Recently we reviewed the Reversing The Trend Of Incivility article. This article stated that technology has changed the style, speed, and reach of our communications making society different than what it was a few decades ago. This trend of incivility has been studied by some sociologists who even say rudeness and inconsiderate behavior may be the new norm!

This new norm of rude behavior and combativeness may be embraced by some as a new way of “getting the job done” but at Gutterman we disagree. Call us “old school” but we strive to provide a level of service that goes beyond just taking care of the customer. A recent look at our marketing revealed an interesting fact: 67% of our customers are repeat clients OR referred to us. That means we must be doing something right!

So how do we improve? By offering a new level of service called Customer Care to our client base of 26 years! We have developed a new department dedicated to providing exemplary care to our client base that has continuously supported us. Meet Our StaffHeather Collier and Jorge Rodriguez-Sawao are two key managers in our Production Department!

If you had work performed by us more than likely you have spoken with Heather who runs our Production Department and schedules all installations. Heather has been a key member of our team since 2006 and plays a critical role in the day to day operations of our company.

Jorge oversees and manages our Service Technicians in the field and is our liaison between our office staff and service technicians. On any given day Jorge can be found out in the field catching those curve balls!

Men's Olympic bouts last for three 3-minute rounds. The women's are four rounds of 2 minutes each. Women can wear either skirts or trunks. The USA team will include flyweight Marlen Esparza, lightweight Queen Underwood, and middleweight Claressa Shields....and the results!

Everyone wonders, "Is it worth the money to remodel my home?" Overall, the answer is, "Probably." But you should not expect to fully recover the amount of your investment.

In 2010, the National Association of Realtors said you can expect between 65 percent and 75 percent back on the investment dollar. During the real estate boom, you could get 80 percent to 90 percent back when selling. As property values grow, percentages will rise.

1. Home maintenance and repair projects: Do these first. If needed, replace or upgrade roofing, exterior paint, some windows, the furnace, and electrical amperage capacity (200 amp is best). An independent home inspector will be looking objectively at your home’s condition if you decide to sell.

2. Curb appeal projects: They are typically lower cost and create emotional appeal and a high ROI. The positive impact of a freshly edged, lush green lawn is significant. A pop of colorful annuals and ground-cover around trees draws attention from the road. A freshly painted front door is inviting, and shiny clean windows are a must.

3. Neighborhood norm projects: It's remodeling that brings your home up to the level of others in the area with features buyers expect your home to have. If your neighborhood is mostly three bedroom homes with a full bath and three-quarter bath with a shower, and you have a three bedroom with a half bath, finding a way to add a shower will more than pay for itself.

4. Kitchen counter upgrades can be had for less by installing attractive counters that have man-made materials rather than granite. Some are made by blending acrylic polymers and stone-derived materials.

They were kind, patient and very informed. The salesman I worked with was prompt, and even c a l l e d p r i o r t o t h e appointment to confirm our meeting. He walked me around my house and I finally had a chance to discuss the problems that had been occurring over time with someone who had the patience to work with me. The appointment lasted long enough for him to access my house and discuss my options, nothing more. He also didn't try to make me sign a contract

right then and there l i k e t h e o t h e r companies. Once I signed the contract Gutterman kept me up to date on when the materials were going to be delivered and the date of my i n s t a l l . T h e technicians were very q u i c k b u t a l s o respectful of my property and made sure none of my fresh landscaping was d i s t u r b e d a n d cleaned up after themselves.

I had several things done to my home: an underdeck system (which is amazing!), three new entry doors with storm doors, all my siding in vinyl. I also had them cover my old wood trim with metal, install a garage door and new gutters. Gutterman went above and beyond the contracted work and removed two old sheds that were falling apart and gave me complimentary shutters for all my windows. All this while most companies won't let you keep the pen you sign your contract with!

I used Angie’s List to help me identify three top-notch gutter companies. Gutterman Services, Inc. was at the top of the listing. I contacted two others so I could have estimates from three vendors. Gutterman was able to schedule their sales visit the earliest of the three by over two weeks! This was a sign of good things to come.

The sales person had sample of gutter to illustrate exactly what we would get, the other vendors did not. The others referred me to the internet to see products and colors– not a winning strategy in my book. The Gutterman sales person explained the installation process and the concerns that company had for installing half-round gutters (susceptible to ice damage if not properly braced). The other two companies did not explain or express any special concerns for the half-round gutters we wanted to be installed. Gu t t e rman ’s c a n d i d f e e d b a c k helped me to build trust in their company and approach.

The last step in my decision process was to check references. It was a great help that Gutterman had a reference right down the street. My neighbor’s experience was excellent. When they had an issue with a corner connection, Gutterman scheduled and fixed the gutter quickly and at no cost for the service call. I liked that responsiveness and commitment to service quality. Needless to say, I chose Gutterman to install my new gutters.

We have a complicated roofline and we were also adding an additional downspout. The lead installer was very friendly and communicated questions and issues readily with me during the installation. He also understood my requests for changes and adjustments. For example, when they installed the half round gutter on the front roofline of my garage, they didn’t space the hangers evenly across the 20-foot span. I pointed that out and they immediately reworked the spacing of the hangers, with no hesitation. I didn’t question why they installed the hangers so haphazardly in the first place.

The installers cleaned up nicely after their work was complete. They carefully walked and swept the driveway to ensure no nails or screws were left. I am happy with their work and how great my new gutters look on the house. I would hire them again. In fact, I have already contacted them to help me install a rain chain on our front porch gutter. Gutters aren’t very glamorous, but Gutterman helped us make our house look better by installing great gutters that work!
