In a continuation of her 2013 presentation, longtime Textile Museum member Christine Brown will discuss how cloth is used on the head in different cultures to conceal and protect, reveal and adorn and convey status and authority. Audience members are encouraged to bring interesting and diverse examples of textiles worn or used on the head. This program is part of The Textile Museum’s ongoing series that invites all participants to expand their knowledge of the textile arts and meet fellow textile admirers. Just days before the mystical holiday of Shavuot, international superstar Matisyahu plays a spiritual and intimate acoustic concert that blends Jewish themes with reggae, rock, hip-hop and beat boxing.
