On 31st March 2012, Student’s Council of Heritage Institute of Technology Kolkata, organized a 2- day workshop on “Ethical Hacking and Data Information Security ” which was addressed by Mr. Hardeep Singh and Mr. Aarshdeep Chaggar, Corporate Trainers and Business Managers of Infi-zeal Technologies Pvt. Ltd.

How to make a difference in “Competitive India”: E&Y

A seminar on Introduction to Delta-Sigma Converter and Reliability Issue on Power Electronics System was held at the Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata on April 4.Professor Kalyan Kumar Roy, Jadavpur University, addressed the students, speaking about the Delta-Sigma Converters which is one of the most happening topics in the current scenario at tech institutes. Dr D K Bhattacharya, principal Power Electronics, architect in International Rectifier, USA who is also attached to the Boston University spoke about the importance of Power Electronics as an efficient control and conversion of electric power which becomes crucial matter for future grid environment.

Competitive challenges are rapidly increasing in the Indian Economy and moreover 50% of the market is volatile and 80 % of the business organizations in the market believe that their market is becoming global,” said Mr. Minal Shanghavi, Associate Director, Advisory Services, Ernst & Young Pvt. Ltd in a seminar organized by Management Education Center of Heritage Institute of Technology Kolkata on 12th April, 2012. The seminar was organized to enlighten the MBA students with the future challenges they have to encounter in the market creating a difference in the organizations where they aim to work in the competitive Indian Economy.

Between 26th April and 28th April, Eclecia-2012, the Annual Cultural Fest of Heritage Institute of Technology Kolkata had been celebrated in the campus. The inauguration of the fest occurred on 26th April which was graced by Mr Probir Roy, Executive Director, Heritage, Dr. Pranay Chaudhuri, Principal, Mr Pradip Agarwal, CEO, Mr. Clayton Moses, Academic Advisor and Mr. Sobhen Ray, Registrar of Heritage. It was a rocking day at Heritage when the Annual Cultural Fest “Eclecia -2012” concluded with a fabulous performance by the team of AR Rahman Studio including Benny Dayal on 28th April 2012. Various exciting activities were conducted during the fests which were participated by top colleges of Bengal.

18 members from Asian Zone Emergency & Environment Cooperation Network (AZEECON-a joint initiative by RDRS Bangladesh, LWD Cambodia, LWS India trust, LWF Nepal, CDRM & CDS Indonesia & LWF Myanmar) visited the 100 Kilowatt solar PV panels at Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata, on 17th May 2012, as a part of their 2 – days training & awareness programme on the utilization of Solar Energy as a great source of renewable energy for variety of applications.

Cultural Confluence @ Youthopia 2012

From May 10th to May 12th, 2012, the Heritage School Kolkata organized their annual cultural fest Youthopia-2012, in the campus which was inaugurated by Manoj Tiwary, ace batsman, Kolkata Knight Riders as Guest of Honour and Shri Harshavardhan Neotia, MD, Bengal Ambuja Housing Development Ltd, as the Chief Guest.

Summer Camp 2012

From May 9th to May 17th 2012, Summer Camp, was organized at the Heritage School. About 200 students participated and this time “Learning Robotics” became a special attraction for the students.

Seminar on Media & Entertainment Sector of the Economy

There is an unbreakable relationship between business and the media industry. Without the aid of media, business would not exist in this world. “In India, media industry is growing rapidly in compare to the other countries in the world due to the high demand in industry, trade and commerce,” said Mr. Soumendu Das, Sr. Vice President and Business Head of Brand Value Media Communications in a seminarfocusing on Growth and Development of Media and Entertainment Industry which was organized by the Heritage Academy on 5th April 2012. The BBA students got a practical exposure about the sector which growing exponentially.

A seminar on the same was conducted by Dr. P.K.Majumdar, Head, Department of textile Technology, Government Textile Engineering College on 11th April.

Medical College project is in progress. Consultant had been appointed for the same. Land and Trust registration for the same is in process. A separate dedicated team under the leadership of the Chairman had been formed for the same to accelerate the process and system.

New students for Btech- 2012 batch would be joining from the month of August 2012.

New students of IB have joined and classes started from 2nd July 2012.
