Council of the Baptized Open Forum on Tuesday, June 13, 7-8:30 pm at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 700 So. Snelling in St. Paul. What is this about an Archdiocesan synod? What kind of a synod should it be? Given the upheaval in the Archdiocese in the past ten or more years, we are hoping for a healing synod that brings people together in a vision of what a local church should be - a joyful and united manifestation of God's love for the world. Come learn more and voice your ideas or concerns. Cabaret 2017 - Save the Dates: It's not too early to circle the dates for Cabaret 2017 on your calendar: Friday, October 27, Saturday, October 28, and the Sunday Show on October 29. Memorial Day Reflection: Today, we remember all those who lost their lives in war and we grieve for service men and women and families who have suffered so much. We also remember and give thanks for those - in-cluding so many in our own faith tradition - who have given their lives for the cause of peace, following the

path of Jesus in their own journey of nonviolence. We thank our SJA WAMM/Peacemakers for reminding us of our call to love our enemies in our struggle to end war and militarism. We also honor all the parents at SJA who have signed a pledge supporting their child's right to refuse to kill as part of their baptism preparation. We, as the parish of St. Joan of Arc, support you in this commit-ment. Blessings of peace to all who are with us this morning. Race: The Power of an Illusion.
