Welcome to the Hatbox Theatre 2017/2018 Season!
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. After a stellar opening on April 1st, 2016 to a sold-out house, Hatbox Theatre has been very busy developing a remarkable community of producers, artists, and audiences. From opening day to the end of our first full season on August 31st, 2017, we have been pleased and proud to present fifty productions (many originals and a few world premieres), through 243 performances by countless performers from throughout New Hampshire and beyond. All told, well over 6,300 people have already been a part of the Hatbox experience.
Hatbox Theatre is a cooperative venue managed and run by volunteers. Productions go through a pitch process and those that are selected for our season receive the majority of the ticket revenue. This allows producers to take risks and bring audiences exciting new shows, classics, and non-traditional theatrical experiences in a venue that supports a strong artist/audience connection. Theater companies throughout New England have been looking to Hatbox’s success as a way to reinvigorate their business model. We owe much of our success to The Players’ Ring of Portsmouth, NH who pioneered this approach and have been wonderful supporters and colleagues. We are ready partners and learn from each other’s efforts. If you are in Portsmouth, we encourage you to take in a show there!
Season Two continues to expand on our initial offerings with more world premieres, original and classic plays, variety entertainment, stand-up comedy, concerts, literature readings, art installations, performance workshops, humanities experiences, talks, burlesque, live podcast recording nights and more. Pitch Night 2017 had many new artists vying for a slot on our season and we are certain you will be surprised and pleased by the program.

We hope that you will continue to support Concord’s newest performing arts venue and "play a part" in bringing world-class original entertainment to New Hampshire audiences in a wonderfully intimate theatre.
