Utopia… A Perfect WorldBY: CAITY PORTEOUS, THEO ZYLA, FAYEZ EJEL Grade 8 H Block
What is a Utopia?• A Utopia is a perfect place, or an idea of a perfect place. The idea
was created by Sir Thomas More in his book Utopia , where he describes a perfect fictional society.

Explanation• To explain, a Utopia is a completely perfect place, where no one
worries or stresses. It is a social, political, and economic perfection. In books, authors use Utopias to propose ideas for an improved world. Although many have tried to create a Utopia, it is impossible to achieve.

Examples of Utopias• Heaven- no one is poor, hungry, mad, there’s no pollution,
everyone gets along. The area is beautiful, with green grass, clouds, all your wants, while watching others live in our world
• Fairy Tales- they all live happily ever after in the end, in a perfect world
• Palmanova’s fortress for the few- this was a perfect area built in 7 October 1593, security , food, water, and a fair group of leaders, but there was one problem, one wanted to move in
• Many books, movies, and other works of fiction include ideas of utopias

Analysis• Ultimately, a Utopia is a perfect world, or a perfect idea of a world.
The question is, is a Utopia a plausible thing to achieve today? Utopias turn into Dystopias when many parties don't agree on the same idea of “perfect”, so in todays world, where everyone wants something different, it's close to impossible to make a modern Utopia in which everyone is a benefactor.
• In a Utopia, no one is worried about health or being rich, because they know that they are going to be healthy, and they are rich in the way that they know they have their share of everything, not too much, and not lacking any needs. The situation is enviable as no one lives with anxieties or worries.
How Does a Utopia Lead to Dystopia?• Although Utopias are deemed as perfect at the time in which they
were created, they usually lead to Dystopias through the same reason. In societies, there are usually may parties, or different groups, which almost never have the same goals, needs, or wants. This usually results in conflict of some sort beginning with the group who has their Utopia not pleasing the other groups, then the other groups rebel against the Utopia, which usually results in the Utopia ending, or turning into a Dystopia.
