Heartfelt Thank You! — “Beautifully done. My mom [Edna Saliva] would be very pleased [for the funeral and reception held at Holy Spirit last Saturday afternoon, July 17] Thank you!” - Jhasoa Agosto Jhasoa’s siblings were overwhelmed with gratitude for the attendance, pray-ers, food, atmosphere and warm welcome they received as strangers to our parish for their mom’s funeral. Many comments were made about the beautiful service and our beautiful church from people who viewed the funeral on Facebook. The Funeral Mass post will be available on Facebook pages of Jhasoa Omar Agosto, Ginger Agosto, and Monica Peterson Benninghoff for at least 30 days.

Knights of Columbus Corporate Communion
8:30 a.m. Sunday, August 1
Knights are invited to sit together The Knights will be in the breezeway after all the Masses with information for men interested in joining the Knights of Columbus. Contact Joe McKenna, (321) 537-0114.
5 Reasons to Join the Knights of Columbus 1. Put your faith into action—Consider our Lord’s teaching on the judgment of nations (Matt 25:34-
45). Are you satisfied that you have done these things for the Lord? If not, joining the Knights of Co-lumbus is an excellent way to practice your faith outside of church.
2. Become friends with your fellow Catholic men—Consider St. Paul’s mark of a true Christian from Romans 12:9-11. The Knights of Columbus is a fraternal group. By joining, you’ll meet men who hold the same Catholic values that you do. Making good friends will strengthen your faith and your parish.
3. Protect your family—Our order was created to care for the families of members who lose their pri-mary wage-earner. Members of the Knights of Columbus have access to excellent life insur-ance. Men who join can rest assured that their families will be provided for when they pass away.
4. Strengthen your parish—Parishes with less active men shrink. Parishes with more active men thrive. The statistics on male participation in their faith are dismal. (Source) Only 29% of men believe that weekly mass attendance is “very important.” Almost half of Catholic men do not engage in a routine of prayer; praying only “occasionally or sometimes” or “seldom or never.” 83% of Catholic men rarely or never participate in a parish activity outside of the Mass. By joining the Knights of Co-lumbus, you can help unite the men of our parish in fully living their faith.
5. Evangelize the community—Pope Francis urges us to get out and bring Christ to the community: Let us go forth, then, let us go forth to offer everyone the life of Jesus Christ…. If something should rightly disturb us and trouble our consciences, it is the fact that so many of our brothers and sisters are living without the strength, light and consolation born of friendship with Jesus Christ… Through charitable work and spiritual activity, Knights unleash the Gospel. Join us, and help spread the Cath-olic faith to our north Brevard community.

23rd Psalm — Themes for Spiritual Life Homily Summary Fr. Andrew Wojtan July 18, 2021
The Shepherd was an image of the loving leader. Moses was the Shepherd–King, so David and Christ. I am the Good Shepherd. The image of the Shepherd and the sheep means: God pro-vides for me. The Psalm emphasizes my poverty but the Lord’s plenty; my emptiness but the Lord’s abundance; my fears and shortcomings but His rich pastures. It does not matter how great my misery is, the Lord has everything for me.
Psalm 23 has always been read in the history of the Church, as a prophecy of the Sacraments and of the Eucharist in particular.
St. Ambrose, in his book on the Sacraments, says: “How often have you heard Psalm 23 and not understood it! See how it is applicable to the heavenly Sacraments.” When we talk about the Lord preparing a table for me, we are not just talking about earthly food. Above all, we are talking about the table of the Eucharist, the Lord’s table.
Eusebius of Caesarea said something similar: “[As we celebrate the Eucharist], we are taught again by the prophet David to say, ‘You have prepared a table before me...’” “Here plainly the mystic chrism and the holy sacrifices of Christ’s table are meant.” Eusebius sees even more: “My cup overflows with the Blood of Christ. “In ancient Christianity, it was called the Sacrament of Chrismation. When David speaks about being anointed with oil, Eusebius is point-ing forward to the sacred chrism of early Christian anointing, which is Confirmation.
Through the Confirmation, Christ gives us the strength to proclaim the Gospel. In the Eucharist, Christ feeds us with His Body and Blood. Jesus acts as the Ultimate Shepherd giving us the ultimate food, which is: His Body, His Blood, His Soul, and His Divinity itself. 1a) The LORD is my Shepherd - That is Relationship! 1b) there is nothing I lack - That is Supply! 2a) In green pastures you let me graze - That is Rest! 2b) to safe waters you lead me - That is Refreshment! 3a) you restore my strength - That is Repentance or Healing! 3b) You guide me along the right path - That is Guidance! 3c) for the sake of your name - That is Purpose! 4a) Even when I walk through a dark valley - That is Testing! 4b) I fear no harm - That is Protection! 4c) for you are at my side; That is Companionship and Faithfulness! 4d) your rod and staff give me courage - That is Comfort and Discipline! 5a) You set a table before me as my enemies watch - That is Hope! 5b) You anoint my head with oil - That is Consecration! 5c) my cup overflows - That is Sustenance, Abundance, Joy and Plenty! 6a) Only goodness and love will pursue me all the days of my life - That is Blessing! 6b) I will dwell in the house of the LORD - That is Security! 6c) for years to come - That is Eternity!
