The Board denied the P e t i t i o n of Riggs Nat ional Bank of Washington, D.C. , r e q u e s t i n g that t h e Board i n i t i a t e proceedings in connect ion w i t h the proposed a c q u i s i t i o n by Mr.Joseph L. A 1 l b r i t t o n of c o n t r o l of approximately 35 percent of the outs tanding vot ing shares of Riggs Nat iona l Bank.
