DOUBLE Prize Money: Paying both sets of winners placed by each judge (Note:Sport Horse is two separate shows on two separate days with only one judge per show,therefore one set of prize money per show). ENTRY INFORMATIONEntries: Entries are made on the official entry form of the show and will not be acceptedunless accompanied by a negotiable, signed valid check or money order for the totalamount or completed credit card information with signature. If received without payment,the entry becomes a post-entry and the post entry fee will apply ($35 per horse). All entriesmust attach (1) copy of registration papers showing owner of record with Arabian HorseAssociation; (2) copy of current AHA and USEF membership cards or include theappropriate non-member fees with entry. USEF Horse Identification Numbers, AHA andUSEF membership numbers must be written on the entry form. Entry form must be signedin the spaces indicated and a signature is required by the parent (if not available, thetrainer) if a minor is showing. Exhibitors must pay all accounts at the show of fice toremove horses from the show grounds. Upon conclusion of the show , there will be a $50charge assessed per horse for those who do not check out in the office prior to leaving theshow grounds. Checks returned to HAAS marked “insufficient funds” will be assessed anadditional $50 fee per check. If restitution is not made immediately upon first verbal orwritten notification, the HAAS will take all appropriate actions in accordance with USEFand AHA rules. All horses on show grounds must be entered in the show unless otherarrangements are made with show management.
Horse Eligibility to Compete, Arabian: Horses shown in this division must have beenissued a certificate of registration from the Arabian Horse Registry of America, Inc. and/orthe Canadian Arabian Horse Registry or, if under one year of age, be eligible for registry,and registration applied for and must be entered under their full registered name. (Onlyweanlings that have had registration applied for may show without registration papers.)Half-Arabian and Anglo-Arabian: Horses shown in this section must have been issueda certificate of registration from the Arabian Horse Association in the Half-Arabian orAnglo-Arabian Registry, or have been issued an Arabian Horse Association (CanadianPartbred Arabian Register) CPAR Permit or if under one year of age, be eligible forregistry and registration applied for and must be entered under their full registered name.
Sale/Lease: In the case of a lessee, pending transfer , contract of sale, or cash sale, proofof lease or ownership must be submitted. These documents must contain the correctregistered name and number of the horse, date, and the signature of the seller or lessee andmust be attached to the copy of the registration certificate.
AHA Membership Requirements:a. Each participant in an Arabian Horse Association recognized Arabian, Half-Arabian/
Anglo-Arabian division/competition, at the time of entry into a competition, must sub-mit a copy of a valid AHA Membership/Competition card, join AHA or pay an AHASingle Event Membership fee per participant.
b. When an agent signs for the owner at an AHA recognized competition, both the ownerand agent must be members of AHA or pay the AHA Single Event Membership.
c. Single Event Membership is not acceptable at AHA Regional or National competitions.d. Exhibitors in Lead Line classes or Parents/Guardians signing for minors are exempt
from AHA Membership requirements.e. Exhibitors in Walk-Trot classes are exempt from AHA Membership requirements at
qualifying competitions but must have an AHA Membership with Competition Card atAHA Regional and National competitions.
NOTE, FOR THIS SHOW: Non-members at Concurrent show (Main Ring) will be chargedsingle event fee ($35). Non-members showing Sport Horse will be charged single event fee($35). Non-members showing both will pay two single event fees ($70). Non-members maybe able to join for less money.
USEF Membership Requirements:USEF MEMBERSHIP STATEMENT: Life, senior active and junior active membersshall be eligible to participate in all classes at Regular Competitions, EventingCompetitions at the Pr eliminary Level or above and Combined DrivingCompetitions at the Advanced Level, Dr essage, Reining and Vaulting Competitionsand Endurance Rides. A nonmember may participate as a handler , rider, driver,owner, lessee, agent, coach or trainer at Regular Competitions, EventingCompetitions, Dressage Competitions, Reining Competitions and Combined DrivingCompetitions upon payment of a $30 nonmember r egistration fee. Participants inthe following classes are exempted from the Requirements of this rule: 1) leadline; 2)exhibitions; 3) games and races; 4) classes for 4-H members; 5) walk tr ot andacademy classes (academy classes ar e classes limited to horses used r egularly in alesson program); 6) USDF introductory level tests, pas de deux and quadrille classes;7) NRHA Endorsed Reining Competitions. 8) Opportunity classes, 9) citizens ofother nations who have proof, in English, of current membership in good standing oftheir own National Federation, 10) USEA beginner novice division; and 11) assistanthandlers in Dressage Sport Horse Breeding classes.NOTE: The above fee structure only pertains to non-members showing in Open Classes.Non-members who wish to show in Amateur Classes are also subject to a $30 USEF ama-teur certification fee (in addition to $30 non-member fee). Non-members may choose tobecome a USEF member for $55, which then waives the $30 non-member fee and the $30amateur fee. Non-members will be charged the non-member fee once, no matter if show-ing at Concurrent show (Main Ring) or Sport Horse show or both. Amateur fee will alsoapply once.
Negative Coggins: Each horse, upon entry at show grounds, MUST be accompanied bya negative Coggins test (Equine Infectious Anemia Test) within the last 12 months (thetime restrictions must not expire while the horse is at the facility). Documentation isrequired for presentation at the show office and/or at time of arrival on show grounds. Allanimals must be in accordance with the current rules of the Texas Animal HealthCommission (TACH 512-719-0777). Health requirements are subject to change by TAHC.All horses are subject to inspection by the show veterinarian. Out-of-state exhibitors mustbe aware of & follow the TAHC requirements for entering the state (www.tahc.state.tx.us/regs/entry.html).
Stalls: Stalls may be occupied from Wed, Jan. 9 at 9 AM until Mon., Jan. 14, 2013 at Noonfor the $75 stall fee. Early move-in and late move-out is available for an additional fee.Either a Stall or Grounds Fee must be paid for every horse (no horses can share a stall). Norequests for adjoining stalls from dif ferent owners will be honored unless all are mailedtogether. Stalls are covered and doors are provided. No hay/straw shall be used as bedding.
Early Arrival & Shavings: All early Move-Ins (on or before Tues., Jan. 8, 2013) mustmake arrangements with Karen Blankenship in advance; shavings cannot be received after4:00 PM until the following morning unless advance notice is made. The facility now locksup all the shavings. You must make arrangements with Karen Blankenship no later than 3:00PM Jan. 8 in order to receive shavings for early move-in. They will be locked in your stallwith a combination for only the staf f representative. Shavings can be received from Wed.,Jan. 9 to Sun., Jan. 13 only between the hours of 7AM-10PM unless advance notice is made.Shavings must be purchased from facility in the show of fice. No shavings shall be broughton site. No hay or straw shall be used as bedding.
Entry Closing Information/Post Entries: Entries close on Dec. 29, 2012. Post entriesare accepted. Post entries are any entries made or made complete after the closing date.Entries postmarked after Dec. 29, 2012 will be considered post entries and will beassessed an additional $35 per horse. A United States Postal Service postmark will takeprecedence over postmarks from private meters, etc. Completed post entries will beaccepted up until one half-hour prior to the beginning of the performance in which theclass is to be held. Post entry fees don’ t apply to horses already entered in show that addclasses during the show.
Refunds: In order to receive any refund, withdrawal of entries must be made in writingto the Show Secretary and accompanied by a vet/medical certificate stating inability toshow. If proper notification is postmarked by entry closing date, all fees less 10% will berefunded. After the entry closing date and prior to the start of the show (Thur ., Jan. 10, 2013at 8:00AM), all fees will be refunded less $30 per horse. No refunds will be allowed afterthe start of the show or after the conclusion of the show .
Facility Information: HAY AND GRAIN WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE. No extensioncords are allowed on the ground or buried. The facility does not allow cooking in thebarns. All dogs must be on a leash. Loose dogs will be impounded and $25 char ged toreturn. Show arena: covered, 300'x150', sand-and-clay footing. East arena: covered,250'x125', sand-and-clay footing. Warm-up arena: covered, sand-and-clay footing.Additional Warm-Up arenas: outdoors, sand-and-clay footing. Sharps containers arelocated prominently in each barn. Concessions will be available during show hours.Services may be limited prior to the beginning of the show .
RV/Campers and Hook-Ups: Permits are required and are available in the show of fice.Hook-ups are $40/day and include the space, water and electricity. You must get an officialpermit from the Horse Show Office and display it visibly on your door or window. Pleasemake a reservation so that we can put the the of ficial permit in your packet.
Veterinarian, Farrier and First Aid: A Veterinarian will NOT be on the grounds, butKaty Equine is available on call. The phone numbers will be posted at the show of fice.In the event of an acute and serious injury to or illness of a horse on competition groundswhen the owner or trainer of the horse or agent of the owner is not present, afterreasonable effort to contact that individual has been made, competition management, inconsultation with a licensed equine veterinarian, may authorize the provision ofemergency veterinary treatment of the horse. If competition management so authorizestreatment under the provisions of this rule, competition management and veterinarian arenot liable for any resulting costs, damages, losses, claims or actions arising directly orindirectly from the treatment of the horse. A farrier will be available for exhibitors. Weask that you use the services of the show farrier. All other farriers must check in with theshow manager prior to seeing any customers. They must get permission to work on theshow grounds and pay a vendor fee. First aid treatment will be available at all timesduring the performance and an ambulance will be on call.
Judges: This show will be judged according to the single judge system. Whenadjudicated concurrently in a single arena utilizing two judges with placings for eachjudge, it is still judged according to the single judge system. In the event of illness orfailure of a judge or any other of ficial to attend this show or to perform his duties, theshow committee reserves the right to substitute an of ficial for the one of ficiallydesignated in the prize list, according to USEF rules.
Minors: Minors who do not have a valid driver ’s license which allows them to operate amotorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate amotorized vehicle of any kind, including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scoot-ers, or farm utility vehicles, on the competition grounds of licensed competitions. Minorswho have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehiclesas long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver ’s license. The parent(s),legal guardian(s), or individual who signs the entry blank as a parent or guardian of aminor operating a motorized vehicle in violation of this rule are solely responsible for anydamages, claims, losses or actions resulting from that operation. Violations of this rulewill be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s) and/or trainer(s) who areresponsible for the child committing the of fense. Penalties may include exclusion of thechild, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) from the competition grounds for theremainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individualsin accordance with Chapter 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for indi-viduals with disabilities are exempt from this rule.
Indemnity and Responsibility: All entries are accepted with the understanding thatneither Great Southwest Equestrian Center , L.P., Karen Blankenship DBA HAAS, theShow, the Show Committee, nor any Show Of ficial will be held responsible for any loss,

damage, or injury to any horse exhibited or any article of any kind. All horses shall beunder the control and direction of the show committee but solely at the risk of theexhibitor, who will be responsible for any loss, damage, or injury to any person, animal orproperty occasioned by him, and the exhibitor shall indemnify the above mentionedparties against any and all loss, damages and liability thus occasioned, including but notlimited to any and all legal costs, including attorney fees, which may be incurred as aresult thereof. THE SUBMITTING OF AN ENTRY FORM TO THE SHOW SHALLCONSTITUTE AN ACCEPTANCE BY EACH PERSON SIGNING SAME OF THEPROVISIONS HEREIN SET FORTH.
Requirements: This horse show is conducted in accordance with the rules of the USEquestrian Federation, Inc., Chapter AR, Arabian, Half-Arabian and Anglo-ArabianDivision and the Arabian Horse Association. The official rule books of each of theseorganizations will prevail for this show; any changes or corrections of these rulesautomatically become part of this prize list. Each participant in this show is responsiblefor knowledge of and is subject to the USEF rules. Exhibitors are encouraged to read thecurrent USEF Rule Book and, particularly Chapter AR for the complete Arabian Horserules, class description and judging specifications. Questions not covered by USEF rulesshall be decided by the Show Committee and its decisions will be final. By entering thisshow, each exhibitor agrees to abide by the final decision of the Show Committee andUSEF Steward.
Questions, Disputes & Pr otests: All protests and questions not covered by these rulesshall be decided by the Show Committee, whose decision shall be final. Disputes shouldbe presented to the Show Chairman prior to filing a formal protest under the provisions ofUSEF GR603. Any rider, driver, handler, exhibitor, owner, agent, trainer or the parents ofa junior exhibitor may file a protest with the Show Committee or The Federation HearingCommittee alleging a violation of any Federation rule(s). The protest must be in writing,signed by the protester, addressed to the secretary of the competition at which the allegedviolation occurred, or to the Hearing Committee, and accompanied by a deposit of $200if made by a Federation member or the parent of a junior exhibitor member or $300 ifmade by a non-member; said deposit will be refunded in the event the protest is upheld,and received by the steward, technical delegate, a member of the Show Committee, thecompetition manager or the competition secretary within 48 hours of the alleged violation,or if made directly to the Hearing Committee, it must be received at the Federation of ficeby the fifth business day following the last recognized day of the competition. Federation Entry Agreement: I have read the United States Equestrian Federation, Inc.(the “Federation”) Entry Agreement (GR906.4) as printed in the Prize List for thisCompetition and agree to all of its provisions. I understand and agree that by entering thisCompetition, I am subject to Federation Rules, the Prize List, and local rules of thecompetition. I agree to waive the right to the use of my photos at the competition, andagree that any actions against the Federation must be brought in New York State. Thecomplete statement is as follows:
By entering a Federation-licensed Competition and signing this entry blank as theOwner, Lessee, Trainer, Manager, Agent, Coach, Driver, Rider, Handler, Vaulter orLongeur and on behalf of myself and my principals, representatives, employees andagents, I agree that I am subject to the Bylaws and Rules of The United StatesEquestrian Federation, Inc. CLASS INFORMATION
Amateur: For the Arabian Division, adult amateurs are defined as those no longer eligibleto compete as junior exhibitors. Every rider having reached his 19th birthday prior to12/1/12 must have in his/her possession an amateur card issued yearly by USEF or makeapplication for such card at least one hour prior to riding in Amateur To Ride classes.Applications may be secured from the horse show of fice. See USEF GR13-B, GR1307,AR101.11, and AHA22.1.b.
Junior Exhibitor: Junior exhibitors shall not have reached their 19th birthday. For HorseShow purposes, the age of the junior exhibitor on December 1 of the show year shall bemaintained throughout the entire year.
Owner Classes (JOTR/AOTR/AAOTR): Every competitor must be a junior/adultamateur exhibitor and the owner or member of the owner’s family. Combined ownershipis not permitted in JOTR/AOTR/AAOTR classes unless all owners are member of thesame family. For competition purposes the term “family” includes husband, wife, parent,step-parent, child, brother, step-child, sister, half -brother and sister, aunt, uncle, niece,nephew, grandmother, grandfather, grandchildren and in-laws of the same relation as statedabove. Leased horses are not eligible. Horses entered in amateur owner and junior ownerclasses must be r egistered in the name of the competitor or a member of thecompetitor’s family, as defined by USEF GR123. Horses registered in afarm/ranch/syndicate/partner-ship/corporation name may be shown in Amateur Ownerclasses provided the family is the sole owner of the farm or entity as defined by GR123. Thesale of a horse does not eliminate this requirement. (Contracts of Sale or Bill of Sale willnot be accepted. Leased horses not eligible.)
Abbreviations: JTR/JTH/JTD – Junior Exhibitor To Ride/Handle/Drive (does not haveto own horse); JOTR/JOTH/JOTD – Junior Owner to Ride/Handle/Drive (Has to ownhorse. See Owner Classes above for more information); ATR/ATH/ATD – Amateur ToRide/Handle/Drive (Does not have to own horse. Junior may also enter class.);AATR/AATH/AATD – Adult Amateur To Ride/Handle/Drive (Does not have to ownhorse); AOTR/AOTH/AOTD – Amateur Owner to Ride/Handle/Drive (Has to ownhorse—see above. Junior may also enter class.); AAOTR/AAOTH/AAOTD – AdultAmateur Owner to Ride/Handle/Drive (Has to own horse—see above). AOTS - AmateurOwned, Trained, and Shown (see USEF AR113g).
Select - AOT, AAOT, AT, AAT, JOT, JT: Classes are open to competitors that have notwon any of the following: (a) One AHA National Champion or Reserve Champion or TopTen in that particular section in which they are shown. (b) One AHA National Championor Reserve Champion in a Select class in that particular section in which they are shown.(c) Three AHA National Top Tens in a Select class in that particular section in which theyare shown. (d) One AHA Regional Champion, Reserve Champion, or three Top Fives inthat particular performance section in which they are shown. (e) Two AHA RegionalChampions in a Select Class in that particular section in which they are shown. Nationaland Regional classes with two or less entries will not af fect Select rider status. (USEFAR113.1f )
Age Split Classes: The age of the exhibitor on December 1, 2012 will used to determinethe correct age split classes for the exhibitor in the 2013 show year .
Maiden, Novice or Limit: Has not won one (“Maiden”), three (“Novice”), or six(“Limit”) first place ribbons at a Regular Competition of The Federation in the particulardivision in which it is shown. Ribbons won within one section do not count if the animalcompetes in a different section (e.g. Arabian Park to Arabian Western Pleasure). Ribbonswon in one-horse classes do not count; the status is as of the closing date of entries for thisshow. See USEF rulebook GR135 for more information.
Ladies & Gentlemen: Junior exhibitors may show in Ladies and Gentlemen to Rideclasses.
Performance Championships: To be eligible to show in a particular performancechampionship, a horse must have been entered, shown and judged in a designated qualifyingclass at this show. See qualifier in parenthesis after class name on schedule and on recappage. All entries placing first, second, or third in a qualifying class must show back in thecorresponding championship or forfeit the prize money awarded in the qualifying class(exception: JTR or ATR qualifying classes for open championships). If a exhibitor hasqualified two or more horses for the same championship class, an exception will be madeif the show office is notified in advance. (USEF GR809)
Halter classes: Breeding & In-Hand classes will be judged using the “in the ringprocedures.”
Halter Championships: To be eligible to show in the breeding/in-hand halterchampionship, a horse must have placed first or second in the designated qualifying class.Sport Horse In-Hand Champions and Reserve Champions must be at least two years old.
Back Numbers: The assigned number of each entry shall be prominently displayed by therider, driver or handler when the entry is exhibited.
Calls for Classes/Tack Changes: As a courtesy to our exhibitors, the public address systemwill be used to make barn calls if possible. However, exhibitors are responsible for seeingthat entries reach the gate on time and should not rely solely on the P.A. system. Classes willbe called promptly. Check-in is required in the paddock area with the paddock master. Timefor tack changes will be at a minimum; the paddock master should be notified of any specialrequirements and he/she may delay opening the gate for the next class for very briefaccommodations.
Two Minute Rule: Exhibitors are to promptly enter the gate when opened. The gate willbe closed two minutes after the first horse enters the arena or directly after the last horseenters, whichever is sooner.
Admission to the Arena: No person will be permitted to enter the arena except participantsin the class, judges and their assistants, show photographer and assistant, show of ficialsand staff. Attendants will not be permitted in the arena until summoned by the judge.

Headers and Leaders: Headers in Walk-Trot and leaders in Leadline classes must be atleast 14 years of age.
Breeding & In-Hand classes: Breeding & In-Hand classes will be judged using the “inthe ring procedures.”
Medal Classes: For Juniors 18 & Under. Requirements & specifications can be found inUSEF AR225.
Leadline 2-6: Open to riders who are at least two years of age and have not reached theirseventh birthday as of December 1 of the current competition year . See GR115. Leadersmust be at least fourteen years of age. Boots are required & rider ’s feet must be engagedin the stirrups/iron. See USEF AR29 for requirements & specifications.
Classic Head: 1) Open to stallions, mares and geldings, two years old and over; 2) Horsesmust be shown in a plain, unmarked sheet or cooler; 3) To enter the ring at a walk and lineup for further inspection; 4) The head shall be comparatively small with the profile of thehead straight or preferably slightly concave below the eyes. The muzzle shall be smallwith large nostrils, extended when in action. The eyes shall be large, round, expressive anddark, set well apart. Glass eyes shall be penalized. There should be comparatively shortdistance between the eye and the muzzle with deep jowls, wide between the branches.Correctness of bite must be considered. The ears shall be small (smaller in stallions thanmares), thin and well-shaped, tips curved slightly inward. (USEF AR111)
Arabian & Half-Arabian/Anglo-Arabian Liberty: Limited to the first 12 entries. Timeallowed per horse is 1.5 minutes with two handlers permitted in the ring. Must be caughtwithin 1.5 minutes or entry will be disqualified. No splint boots, bell boots or whips oversix feet. Music (if desired) must be provided to the show of fice prior to the beginning ofthe session. Tapes must be cued to the correct location, and clearly marked with horse’ sname, exhibitor number, and music title. To be judged on presence, animation, and way ofgoing. Two winners each receiving $35 Prize Money & Rose Blanket, double placingswith ribbons to 6th place.
