Developing Self-Directed Learners through HOM

Use HOM as a thinking curriculum to inculcate thinking

dispositions and develop Self-directed learners in

BLGPS

❧❧Started as ground up initiative in 2013 to address

key concerns raised during FuSE (result analysis)

Why HOM in BLGPS?

❧Students lacked thinking skills and good learning habits.

❧Structured approach (HOM) was introduced to cultivate thinking dispositions and nurture good learning habits in students to help them become Self-Directed Learners.

❧Why HOM in BLGPS?

❧Findings shared during Staff Symposium

❧Potential of HOM in shaping Self-Directed Learners who are ‘Future Ready with Strong Fundamentals’, equipped with the 21st Century Competencies, leading them to become ‘Reflective and Innovative’ Thinkers, ‘Confident and Responsible’ Leaders & ‘Passionate and Empathetic’ Contributors.
