HADI DAMIENPOSITION SOUGHT: CO-PRESIDENTBorn in Beirut 1989, Hadi Damien is the initiator and organiser of Beirut Pride, the first Pride in the Arabic-speaking world. Arrested in May 2018, and placed in custody following the homophobic fabrication of a fake, sensational program that was attributed to Beirut Pride, he was released after the initiation of criminal proceedings against him, relative to the organisation of “events that incite to debauchery” and that are still ongoing.

He authored the multi-sectoral framework for the LGBTIQ+ file in Lebanon (featuring a 10-year plan that responds to LGBTIQ+ challenges). Member of InterPride (Representative of Region 18, CSIC co-chair, committee member), he also sits on the International Advisory Boards of both AllOut NGO and the Human Rights Conference of the WorldPride Copenhagen 2021.

Postgraduate lecturer in the Jesuit Saint Joseph University in Beirut, he designs events and communications for the private and public sectors, and practices political communication. In this capacity, he lobbied during the Lebanese Parliament elections of May 2018 for LGBTIQ+ inclusion, succeeded in getting candidates and MPs pledge support for the decriminalization of LGBTIQ status, then authored the decriminalization parliament bill. He also wrote a bill for the national HIV response that features 72 sections, including a large part about non-discrimination procedures.

His service as former volunteer member in the Cabinet of the Minister of Culture for three consecutive terms enhanced his sensitivity for public policies and government contributions. He studied translation, theater and interior architecture. He holds a Master in Medieval Islam and wrote his MA Thesis about Male Same Sex Intercourse in Islamic Jurisprudence. He delivers conference and college keynotes, and he has spoken at high-level panels and consultations such as at the Munich Security Conference and the United Nations. His work has been featured in 340 articles in more than 17 languages, and he communicates in French, Arabic, English, and Italian.

EMMANUEL TEMORESPOSITION SOUGHT: VICE PRESIDENT, GLOBAL OUTREACHSince I started to get involved with InterPride, in 2016, I have always worked with the premise and the commitment to enrich the knowledge and the diversity within the organization, and let all voices be heard. This is a commitment with the Pride Movement as such, and InterPride is the platform to make this happen, which is why I feel fortunate to be able to work on it at this time of my life.

As VP of Global Outreach I want to continue developing closely the commitments and projects I currently have together with my colleagues from different teams and workgroups. I am now the main interlocutor between InterPride and Latin America. In conjunction with other leaders of the region, we are working on a regional Pride network, OLA.

During these recent years I have had the honor of being part and co-lead some of the most challenging and cohesive projects in InterPride such as Pride Radar, Global Pride and the upcoming Annual Conference in my city, andI have had the opportunity to collaborate in more than half of the Committees and groups of the organization. With this I feel more confident to make the best decisions for InterPride in its objective of being the umbrella of the Global Pride Movement.

More about me: Emmanuel Temores, 35 years old. I was born and I live in Guadalajara Mexico. I am the current Secretary in Guadalajara Pride. For more than a decade I served as a journalist and contributor to LGBTIQ media. At the local level I have collaborated in campaigns for HIV and equal marriage awareness, and LGBTIQ sociological research. I have formed and I support sport teams and sport initiatives for the community, and I co-lead Queernovation, a series of talks and training for the LGBTIQ tech community. Professionally I am a digital advertising super-specialist, and my favorite hobby is listening to loud music.

DEBBIE BRIXEYPOSITION SOUGHT: VICE PRESIDENT, MEMBER SERVICESOriginally from Wales, Debbie speaks Welsh as a second language and is very proud of her Celtic heritage. She moved to London in the early 1980s becoming involved in a number of groups, mainly within the lesbian community. She also volunteered at the London Lesbian and Gay Centre (LLGC) behind the bar and as a door supervisor for the women’s disco and worked with several women’s’ groups during this time. While in London Debbie worked in publishing and marketing.

In 2000 she decided to change career and become a freelance IT tutor specialising in working with older people (usually 80+) and people with disabilities. She has continued to work in this field specialising in working with people with visual impairments and learning disabilities (including dyslexia). Debbie worked with the BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, to create accessible courseware for blind users as well as creating screen reader modules for some examining bodies in the UK. She currently works with a number of companies to deliver training, both online and in person, and is a consultant on disability matters to several training organisations. She is passionate about accessibility and equality for people with disabilities.

In 2014 Debbie reconnected with a friend from the London scene and they moved to Brighton and married. Widowed in 2016, she has continued with her late wife’s business – over 30 years selling LGBT+ merchandise at Prides around the UK and working with new Prides to provide fundraising merchandise.

In 2018 she joined the committee of Oxford Pride as Communications Officer and also took on the role of Sponsorship and Fundraising Officer later in the same year. As Chair of Oxford Pride in 2019 she saw the biggest event to date with a two-week festival and a lot of community engagement in the months leading up to the Pride Day.

Debbie currently lives in Oxford with her wife, an Australian born photographer, their son, and many cats and hens.

JASON POTTER-PEACHEYPOSITION SOUGHT: VICE PRESIDENT, MEMBER SERVICESBorn and raised in Gloucestershire, UK, JayJay has been involved in the Pride movement since 2014, starting his Pride career as the Production Manager.

In 2018, he became the Chairperson of Pride In Gloucestershire, turning the organisation around and putting Pride back into politics, and has seen the event grow, including starting up mini-Pride events across the rural setting of Gloucestershire, taking Pride to the people.

In 2016, JayJay became a founding Board member of the UK Pride Organiser Network (UKPON) which started life with 70 members and now has over 200 Pride members. JayJay is the only person to have been re-elected into his post for a second term, finally standing down in January 2020.

Currently JayJay is a Co-Chair of the Member Services committee of InterPride and is the ARD for Region 10.

JayJay has a degree in Geography and Politics from Queen Mary, University of London, and lives at home with his husband Benjamin, 5 chihuahuas, 3 chickens, and 2 ducks!

Currently JayJay is also in the process of standing for local County Councillor and is pursuing a career within local politics.

ALAN REIFFPOSITION SOUGHT: SECRETARY (CURRENTLY INTERIM)Alan has had 30 years of Pride involvement in the U.S. and internationally and has been a volunteer with Heritage of Pride for more than 30 years. Positions he has held include Co-Chair, Secretary, Outreach and PrideFest Director, Acting Treasurer, Staff Implementing Committee, and he has served on the March, Rally, and Stonewall 50 Committees.

Also, on the Executive Board of Queens Pride, Alan’s roles have been Co-Chair, Pridefest Director, and Northeast Regional Prides (NERP) 2015 Programming Director.

Working with Dirk McCall (Founder and Director) to produce OUTBronx, they’ve built a networking LGBT+ organization that creates safe spaces to increase visibility in the Bronx.

With InterPride, Alan’s volunteered as past Board secretary, past Solidarity and Scholarship Committees member, current Human Rights and CSIC Committees member, WorldPride Committee co-chair and secretary, and Restructuring Committee secretary.

Getting very involved with the first WorldPride in Rome in 2000, he has since made it a personal goal to attend and volunteer at as many Prides as he can. He feels this national and international experience has made him a better person

With 29 years of experience as an educator, his multilingualism will add to the skill set of the Executive Committee. Working as an English as a New Language educator, he is well versed to work in an international environment. Alan speaks Spanish, French, and some Portuguese; opening many doors around the world, politically and personally.

Working hard to be recognized and respected within our community, Alan is lucky to have made many good friends and political allies over the years. People trust him and know he is upfront and authentic. His only motivation is to advance our movement, and to help make the world a more equal and diverse place.
