Kyrkhärbret (The church wooden-storage-house), built in 1285 in Älvdalen, is the oldest house, made of wood in Sweden.

THE HAGSTROM HISTORY

Hagstrom has a long history of building guitars. Hag-strom‘s production of acoustic steel string and classi-cal guitars date back as early as the 1940‘s. In 1958, the fi rst Hagstrom electric guitars were built and cov-ered in sparkle and pearloid celluloid, baring stamped metal logos. An ingenious use of materials previously used for the production of accordions. Over the years Hagstrom further developed the selection of instru-

ments with hollow body guitars, such as “Vikings” and “Jimmys”. Later in time, the “Swede” and “Super Swede” became the legendary fl agship Hagstrom guitar models. A new line of electric basses which included the “Swede”, “Viking”, and the legendary “H8” (the world’s fi rst 8-string bass) became instant successes.

The Hagstrom Select, Vintage and Ultralux series recapture many of the origi-nal Hagstrom features, are built to the same stringent quality standards and feature many of the same unique tones that made Hagstrom the legend that it is. All models rely on a unique sourcing and manufacturing concept. Both the raw materials and hardware for our guitars, come from fi rst rate suppliers from

all over the world. Each instrument is carefully built and assembled, where tone and quality

are of absolute top priority. The result is a stunning range of instruments that look and sound almost identical to the originals. This may come as no surprise knowing that they are built using the original machines or exact replicas of the machines used to build the legends of yore.

Only thanks to this approach was it possible to keep using those time-tested bridges, tailpieces and even the original Hagstrom logo. Even the machine heads, albeit with slightly smaller and thus handier buttons, are back, as is the legendary H-Expander truss rod. But there are also new features, like the Resinator™ wood fi ngerboard whose resonance and sustain qualities are far superior to anything ebony or rosewood can offer. Quality and expertise are fused into exceptional instruments whose price tags are nevertheless bound to come as a pleasant sur-prise to musicians.

H-Expander™All Hagstrom electric gui-

tars and basses include our

patented H-Expander™ truss

rod. Providing tension at

both ends and running the

entire length of the neck,

the rigid yet light-weight alloy truss rod allows for

a very low action and thin neck, two factors that

were instrumental in earning Hagstrom its repu-

tation as the world’s fastest playing guitar. The

H-Expander™ truss rod does not only provide ulti-

mate stability of the neck, but also plays a hand

in providing you with the unique “Hagstrom tone”.

Longer sustain and a sharper attack, are a couple

of the sonic characteristics that the H-Expander™

adds to the tonal essence of Hagstrom.

The FoundationsResinator™ Wood is a wood

composite material that is

homogeneous in nature

and is more stable than any

standard wood product. It

is the perfect fi ngerboard

material in that it eliminates wolf tones or hot

spots. It has an articulate sound simular to high

quality Ebony, but without any of the problems

associated with Ebony. It provides an stable and

clear tone, and also adds higher overtones and har-

monics which uniquely details each note played.

Like our H-Expander™ truss rod, our Resinator™

wood also plays a major part in producing the spe-

cial “Hagstrom tone”.

Hagstrom Machine HeadsEnsuring accurate tuning, Hag-

strom’s own 18:1 and 15:1 gear

ratio machine heads are each

used throughout our Hagstrom

models. Beluga, Viking and HB

series basses feature a 17:1 gear

ratio where the FXB series basses feature a 22:1 gear

ratio in an open gear format for accurate tuning.

Based on the classic “Vintage” Hagstrom guitars of yesteryear, these instruments use the same neck profi le and features that placed Hagstrom guitars in the focus of an array of musicians around the world for decades.

BASSES

Hagstrom basses are based on three different series, these

being the Vintage, Ultralux, and Beluga series.

Each series has been specially developed to offer a truly

unique instrument, to cater to a multitude of different

players and playing styles.

The Vintage series basses have been specially created by

examining Hagstroms classic repertoire of bass models

from the past, where the tone and playability has been

taken into serious consideration to bring these renowned

classics back to the world.

The Ultralux models take the modern player to heart, by

offering an ultra slim neck, and a versatile tone which will

surely inspire the modern player.

The Beluga models can be considered as “a hybrid” between

the Vintage and Ultralux series, providing you with an

explosive variation of tone, a classic feel to the instrument,

yet providing a stunning and modern look to place you in

the focus of your audience.

Hag-Bags are specially designed to provide a

perfectly snug fit. A unique B-Wave assem-

bly incorporated into the Hag-Bags sides, provide

superior protection while also being lighter and less

bulky than other conventional gig bags.

Viking Bass

Hagstrom hardshell cases are manufactured using

high grade plywood featuring heavy duty gold plated

latches, a comfortable ergonomically soft handle, and

a deep plush protective lining reducing interior move-

ment. The case exterior is made of durable Tolex in a

vintage tan tone, gracefully branded with the Hag-

strom logo. Seams are enforced with heavy brown

stitching, featuring tasteful leatherette stitched sides.

The rectangular flat cases for the F-series and XL gui-

tars also feature dark brown leatherette end caps with

distinctive brown stitching. The cases for the Select,

Swede, Deuce, Ultra Swede, Viking and H-series hollow

body models feature an rigid arch

top and form fitting design.
