Haifa Port Statistics and Performance on
MSC’s GGS line, Callings with 9,200 TEU Vessels starting 2012-2015
� Maximum draft allowed in Carmel terminal: 14.8 meters.
� Scheduled calling windows .
� Average of 1060 moves per vessel in 62 random callings.
� Average of 72 containers per Vessel hour, from pilot to pilot.
� 4 to 5 STS Cranes working on each vessel per shift.
� Nearly 100 Containers per vessel working hour.
In October 2015, The Adriatic Line of 2M alliance started calling
Haifa port with10,000, TEU 367 m’ vessels.

In 2013 among
OECD Regional Development
Working Papers, 09/2012
was published a research
regarding the Efficiency of world ports
in container and bulk cargo.
This research determined that
Haifa Port is the
4th most efficient port in the world.

Carmel Terminal
Under construction for Carmel terminal:
2 new STS Cranes with Reach of
20 +1 containers across the
vessel’s deck.
3 new RMG’s for storage area.
All will be operational by the end of 2016.
Commencing January 2017
Carmel Terminal will be served
by 8 STS cranes and 15 RMG’s.

in one shift with 1 crane was achieved
� On April 2015 in the famous Navis World
event, Navis announced Haifa Port as
the winner for the Award of Excellence
in the Community Impact category.
� Modern passenger terminal, planned for 600,000 passengers per year, includes comfortable waiting area, duty free shop, souvenir shop, cafeteria and other travel-related services.
� The passenger terminal is adjacent to quay which allows simultaneous docking of 3 ships.
� There is an easy access for the passengers to the railway station, buses and main traffic corridors .

� All crane equipment in the new Carmel
Container Terminal is fully electrical.
� Replacement of all Port’s mobile equipment with
new equipment in order to reduce emissions and
carbon footprint.

contractors, and customers to environmental
responsibilities.
