Barber's Comb and ScissorsAllowyoutohaveaprofessionalhaircutathome.

Cleaning BrushToremovehairclippingsfromtheblades.

Lubricating OilProtectsandprolongsthelifeoftheblades.

ThebladesofyourHairCuttershouldbeoiledbeforeeachuse.Placeafewdropsofoilontheteethofblades.OnlyusetheoilsuppliedwithyourSunbeamHairCutter.Ifthebladesarenotcleanedandoiledregularly,orifyoudonotusesufficientoil,thebladeswillbegintowearandbecomeblunt.Thismayresultinhaircatchingbetweentheblades,whichmaycausediscomfort.

ThebladesofyourHairCutterarecarefullyalignedatthetimeofmanufacture.However,shouldthebladesbebumpedduringtransitorremovedforcleaning,theywillneedtoberealigned.Torealigntheblades,seetheinstructionsunderCare and Cleaning.

Before using your Hair Cutter

ThefirsttimeyouuseyourHairCutter,cutasmallsectionofhairtofamiliariseyourselfwiththecuttinglengthofeachcombguide.Thecombguidesareclearlynumberedandmarkedwithameasurementwhichindicatesthelengthofhairremainingwhencuttingwitheachguide.Sunbeamrecommendsthatyoustartwiththe#7comb,thenchangetothe#6combandsoon,untilyouachievethedesiredhairlength.

1.Ensurethatthecutteriscleanandthereisnohairintheblades.

2.Placethepersonwhosehairisabouttobecutsothatthetopoftheirheadisateyelevel.

3.Combhairfreeoftangles.Donotdampenhair.Ifhairislongerthan10cm,itmightbeeasiertocutthehairtoamanageablelengthusingthebarber’scombandscissorsprovidedbeforeusingthecutter.Usethehairclipstosectionhairifrequired.

4.Selectthecombguideforthedesiredlength.Toattachthecombguide,holdthecutterwiththetopsidefacingtowardsyouandthebladespointingupward.Removethebladecoverandsnapthecombguideintopositionunderneaththeblades.

5.Inserttheplugintoa230-240Vpoweroutletandturnthepoweron.

6.Turntheswitchonthesideofthecuttertotheon(I)position.

Cutting hair to one length all over Startingatthebackoftheneckwiththe

bladespointingupwards,gentlyguidethecutterupthroughthehairtowardsthetopofthehead.Donotforcethecutterthroughthehairquickly,asthismaypullthehairstrandsandcausediscomfort.Repeatthisactiononthesidesofthehead.Tocutthehaironthetopofthehead,startatthefrontandgentlyguidethecutterthroughthehairtothebackofthehead.Repeatuntilallthehairhasbeencut.

Shakethecutterregularlyoverawastecontainerduringusetoremoveclippingsthataccumulateonthetopofthecombguide.Ifanexcessiveamountofhairaccumulatesduringcutting,switchthecutteroff,removethecombguideandbrushhairfrombladeswithcleaningbrushprovided.

Ifthecutterslowsduringuse,thebladesmayneedcleaning.Toclean,followtheinstructionsunderCareandCleaning.

Cutting hair to varying lengths

The Neck Tocutthehairatthebackoftheneck,

firstselectthecombguideforthedesiredhairlength.Startinginthecentre,restthecutteragainsttheheadwiththeteethfacingupwards.Guidethecutterupwards,cuttingalittleatatime.Asyoucut,liftthetopofthecutteruptowardsyou.

The Back Tocutthehairatthebackofthehead,

selectthecombguideforthedesiredhairlength.

The Top Selectthecombguideforthedesiredhair

length,rememberingthatthe#7combwillprovidethelongesthairlength.Startingatthefrontoftheheadandworkingbacktowardsthecrown,gentlyguidethecutterthroughthehair.Repeatuntilallhairontopoftheheadiscut.

The Sides Forstraightlinesaroundtheears,remove

thecombguidefromthecutter.Holdthecutteratrightanglestotheheadwiththetopsidefacingdown.Withthebladesincontactwiththeskin,movethecutterdownward.Repeatuntilaneatlineisachieved.

The Finishing Touch Attachthe#7combandrunthecutter

overtheentireheadtoensurethatnostrandsofhairhavebeenmissed.

Using the Taper Comb Guides Thetaperguidesareusedtoblendthehair

onthesidesandbackoftheheadwhendifferentcombguidesareused.Attachthelefttaperguidetothecutterandguidethecutteralongtheleftsideoftheheadalongthelinewherethedifferentlengthcombguideshavebeenused.Attachtherighttaperguideanddothesameontherightsideoftheheadsothatthehaironthetopoftheheadblendsevenlywiththatonthesides.

Trimming Beards and Moustaches Selectthecombguideforthedesired

hairlength.Startbelowthechinandgentlyguidethecutterupwardandtowardyourear.Usingthecombandscissors,combthemoustachedownwardandtrimcarefullyalongthelipline.

Using the Taper Lever Thetaperleverallowsforfineadjustment

tofinishedhairlengthwithouttheneedtochangetoafinercombguide.Useofthetaperleverwillprolongthelifeofyourbladesasadifferentcuttingedgeisusedineachposition.Shouldhairgetcaughtbetweenthebladesduringuse,itcanbeeasilyremovedbymovingthetaperleverupanddownwhilethecutteristurnedon.

Whenusedwithout the comb guides, positioningthetaperleverinthetoppositionwillgiveaveryclosecut.Astheleverismoveddown,thehairisleftlonger.Inthelowestposition,thelengthofthecutisthesameasthelengthachievedwiththe#1comb.

Whenusedwith the comb guides, thetaperleverprovidesacutbetweentwoguides.Forexample,whenusingthe#1comb,pushingthetaperleverupwillgiveaclosecut,resultinginshorterhair.Positioningtheleverdownwilllengthenthecut,resultinginslightlylongerhair.

Oiling the Blades ThebladesofyourHairCuttershouldbe

oiledbeforeandaftereachuse.Placeafewdropsofoilontheteethoftheblades.OnlyusetheoilsuppliedwithyourHairCutter.Ifthebladesarenotcleanedandoiledregularly,orifyoudonotusesufficientoil,thebladeswillbegintowearandbecomeblunt.Thismayresultinhaircatchingbetweentheblades,whichmaycausediscomfort.

Makesurethatthecutterisswitchedoffandunpluggedfromthepoweroutletbeforecleaning.

Usethecleaningbrushtoremovehairandclippingsfromthecombguides,scissorsandblades.

To Clean the Blades Tothoroughlycleantheblades,removethe

screwsandremovethebladesfromthecutter.Wipethemoverandreplaceontheunit.

To realign blades:1.Placeafewdropsofoilontheblades,plug

thecutterinandturnthepoweron.Turnthecutteronforafewseconds.

2.Unplugthecutterandslightlyloosenthescrewsonthebaseoftheblade.

3.Slidethebladesbackandforthuntilthetipsofbothbladesarealigned,tightenthescrews.

To Clean the Cutter Wipetheoutsideofthecutterwithasoft

drycloth.
