School Administrator Training• Timeframe: 2005-current• In partnership with Haitian principals,
developed two, one-week courses focused on a variety of leadership topics (e.g. curriculum development, communication, developing strategic plans)
• Approximately 500 school administrators, from across Haiti, have taken these courses over the past 5 years. There is an agreement with Universidad FLET (Florida)/Laurel University (North Carolina) to accept the courses toward M.Ed. credit

Teacher Training
• Timeframe: October, 2011• Two ½ day workshops
(transformational leadership, exemplary teaching practices) for 250 lead teachers as part of a week-long teacher training conference at Fermathe (West Department, Haiti)

Educational Leadership Book
• Co-edited by myself + two profs from University of Oklahoma and Florida (in process)
• Will include chapters written by myself and other educational researchers from across North America
• Focus is on examining educational leadership preparation and development in the developing world

publication• Each chapter is written by a
Haitian school administrator on an area relevant to education in Haiti
• Supported by a $3,000 Redeemer University Internal Research Grant

Teacher and Administrator Training – North Department
• Canadian International Development Agency grant valued at $2.7 M
• applied October 2011• Three focus areas of this grant, in partnership with the
Haitian Ministry of Education (MENFP), to be centered in the North Department (Cap Haitien): baseline educational data collection, needs assessment, and development/delivery of educational training

Digital Mentoring: Technology Investigation
• Completed in 2010-2011 through a $6,000 WLU Internal Research Grant
• Investigation of how specific digital technologies (smartphones, tablet computers) might be used for co-mentoring of Haitian and Canadian school principals
• Technological challenges included: cost, maintenance, support, security, access to electricity and Internet

Transformational Leadership Pilot Project
• WLU Internal Research Grant of $3,000
• application under review (Nov. 2011)
• To examine how transformational educational leadership practices might develop in Haiti
• Methodology includes pre/post tests using the Leithwood Leadership Scale + various on-line activities

• Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT)
• 3 grants of $25,000 each• application in process (Dec. 2011)• Three separate grants are being applied for: educational
leadership needs assessment for the North Department, transformational leadership practices and opportunities, and the establishment of a professional magazine for educational leaders in the North Department

(Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada)
• Value of $200,000 – application in process (Nov. 2011)
• The focus of this grant is to provide networking opportunities for various educational stakeholders with the goal of establishing research and publishing collaborative ventures in the North Department, Haiti
