THE HONOURABLE HAMAD MASOUD HAMAD MSc – Water and Waste Engineering, Class of 1984 Water, Engineering and Development Centre School of Civil and Building Engineering LOUGHBOROUGH UNIVERSITY DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI AWARD The Honourable Hamad Masoud Hamad is an elected Member of the House of Representatives, Zanzibar; Minister of Infrastructure and Communication; and a Member of the Revolutionary Council, Zanzibar. He holds a BSc in Civil Engineering from the University of Dar es Salaam and and is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Logistics and Transportation. He served as a lecturer and Head of Department at Karume Technical College. In 1984, Masoud graduated from Loughborough. Within 12 months, he was appointed Director of Water and Chief Engineer of the Water Department in Zanzibar, a post he held until 1990. During the following five years, he gained valuable experience as the managing director of a consulting engineering firm. Then, in 1995, he became an elected member of the Zanzibar House of Representatives and the Shadow Minister of Water, Energy, Construction and Lands. During his tenure he also served as Deputy Chair of the House Committee for Construction and Communication (2008-2010). In November 2010, Hamad was appointed as a Member of the Revolutionary Council of Zanzibar and Minister of Infrastructure and Communications in Zanzibar. The Honourable Hamad Masoud Hamad is an elected Member of the House of Representatives, Zanzibar; Minister of Infrastructure and Communication; and a Member of the Revolutionary Council, Zanzibar.

He holds a BSc in Civil Engineering from the University of Dar es Salaam and and is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Logistics and Transportation. He served as a lecturer and Head of Department at Karume Technical College.
