HAMILTON entered the diagnostics market in 1988 with innovative products for automated processes. Thousands of MICROLAB® AT, a highly effective automated sample preparation station, are serving customers in laboratories all over the world. Equally successful is HAMILTON’s MICROLAB® F.A.M.E. introduced in 1994 - a fully automated processor for ELISA assays using microplates. With the revolutionary MICROLAB® STAR IVD, HAMILTON introduced a new generation of highly flexible workstations to this market, which will further strengthen HAMILTON’s position in diagnostics.

From the MICROLITER® Syringe to a Global Company
A long history of successful products began in 1947 with the development of the MICROLITER® syringe by the company’s founder. Demand for the revolutionary syringes grew rapidly and in 1967 a new R&D, production and sales facility was established in Bonaduz, Switzerland. Today HAMILTON Bonaduz acts as headquarters for the European, Asian and African markets, while the headquarters for the Americas, the Far East and Pacific Rim is located in Reno, Nevada, USA (established 1972). The founding of subsidiaries in Germany, Great Britain, France, Italy, China and Denmark has further strengthened the company’s worldwide sales and service network.
