How to create a movie using Windows Live Movie Maker:
1. Import a video or music file by pressing the “Add videos and photos or Add Music” button.
2. You can add text to your movie by pressing the “Title, caption or credits”.
Titles – Go at the start of your movie.
Captions – Appear over the top of your video or images.
Credits – Scroll through at the finish of your movie.
3. Windows Live Movie Maker uses tabs and these will appear or disappear depending on what
you have in your movie.
4. Sometimes your images or video can be the wrong way up, use the “Rotate left or right”
button to correct the orientation of your footage.
5. In the Video Tools – Edit tab you can “Trim, splice or change the start and end point of your
video”.
6. In the Music Tools – Options tab you can “Split, or change the start and end point of your
music”.
7. In the Text Tools – Format tab you can “change the font, change the duration or add nifty
animation to the text “.
8. When you are ready to finalize your movie you
must make sure you save it as a movie. Click on
the blue file button at the top left of your screen
then select Save Movie from the list choose the
option For Computer and pick a spot on your
computer to save the movie file.
9. Depending on the length of your movie it will take
between 5-10 minutes to render. Once this is
complete you will be able to watch your movie or
give it to your teacher.
