T hank you for your interest in the All Star Elite Cheer Team Program at Peak Athletics! Our organization has been committed to excellence since its inception in 1999, and we intend to continue that tradition in the 2019 - 2020 season.

This year, we are thrilled to be celebrating our 20th season of All Star Cheerleading Teams here at Peak, and we are honored to have you join us for this exciting season. I personally, have had the privilege of being involved at Peak for 17 of those 20 seasons, and can tell you that I’m more excited than ever with the direction our program is going. All Star Cheerleading has grown and developed for more than 20 years to become an extremely athletic and competitive sport. At Peak, we push our athletes to reach their greatest potential while trying to teach life lessons that will stay with the kids well beyond their years in the gym. We are grateful to train in a beautiful 24,000 square foot facility and share our space with two other competitive programs, Dance and Gymnastics. Being part of the Peak Family affords us the opportunity to take advantage of our expert coaches in all three disciplines to give our athletes the opportunity to be well-rounded in all aspects of our sport. Most importantly, it triples the size of our support system and gives our athletes and families an even larger group with whom to develop life-long relationships! Being a part of our program is a significant commitment, and one which we encourage you to consider all aspects of prior to committing. Our financial commitment is outlined in detail in the following pages. If you have individualized questions regarding this topic, please feel free to reach out so we can ensure you head into the season fully aware of the commitments. In addition to the financial commitment, there is a significant time commitment for the athletes and their families. These details will be laid out within this packet, but please do not hesitate to reach out if you would like further clarification. We are grateful for your interest in our program and thank you for the opportunity to become a part of your family’s life! I look forward to getting to know each of you over the coming months and encourage you to contact me with any questions you have.

Sincerely, Chesea Kouzmanoff | All Star Cheer Director [email protected] Gym Information: Peak Athletics, 399 Dad Clark Drive, Highlands Ranch, CO 80126 303-797-8082 (gym) 303-797-5422 (fax) www.peakathletics.net

Financial Responsibilities & Obligations Thank you for your careful consideration of the financial commitment involved with participation in our program. Team fees are non-refundable for any reason. Payment: All team families are required to have a credit card on file for the upcoming team season. This credit card will be used for ALL payments including tuition, team fees, uniforms, annual membership and travel. Each family can pay prior to all due dates with any form of payment. For tuition and team fees, your card will be charged on the 26th of each month. All other payments will be processed on or after the due date specified on your monthly statement. In the event your credit card is declined, a new/valid card must be placed on file immediately. Past due charges are subject to late fees. Membership Fee: An annual membership fee of $50 per athlete or $75 per family will be assessed on each family’s anniversary date and charged to your credit card on file. Competition & Practice Attire: All athletes will be required to have competition clothing and accessories. These items include: Uniform, Warm-Ups, Practice Attire, Competition Bow, Make-up, Cheer Shoes, Backpack and Strength & Flexibility Conditioning Equipment. As has always been the case, our goal as a program is to build competitive teams while instilling life lessons. This season, we are strengthening our focus on being competitive for the right reasons. We want our athletes to be motivated to be as successful as possible because they work hard, make sacrifices and put team above self, not because they’re focused on getting a bid. We look forward to watching this renewed perspective bring positive change this season!

5 REGISTER FOR EVALUATIONS AT: bit.ly/PeakCheerReg2019

Evaluation Description: EVALUATION REGISTRATION AND EVALUATION SCHEDULING WILL BE ONLINE ! Visit bit.ly/PeakCheerReg2019 to register.

Athletes are being evaluated to be part of the Peak Athletics program, not on a specific team or for a specific position. Our teams are built based on score sheet requirements for each USASF/IASF level. Your athlete will be assigned to a team based on true skill level, age and team need. Participants may only be evaluated ONCE. All athlete accounts must be paid in full prior to being evaluated for the 2019-2020 season. Evaluations will take place in two rounds. Both rounds are required for final team placement. We try to make the team evaluation process as low-stress as possible. Athletes will be given numerous opportunities to demonstrate skills they have mastered throughout the process. We want the athletes to be relaxed, so the entire process mimics a regular practice as much as possible.

Evaluation Requirements: ALL of the tumbling skills listed by level in the attached chart are required for an athlete to be considered at that level. If skills are missing from the level requirements list, the athlete is not considered to be well-rounded at that level and may not be considered for placement within that level. If an athlete does not meet all the qualifications/requirements, but has mastered most of the level skills, placement on a team at that level may be considered individually based on stunting ability, performance quality and the needs of that specific team. Stunting ability, performance quality and age/maturity also weigh heavy in consideration even when all tumbling requirements are met and could be a determining factor. It is our goal to make well-rounded teams that are strong in all areas so our athletes are in the best position to be successful during competition season. Please keep all of this in mind as you begin the evaluation process. Level appropriate tumbling skills can be found in this packet and will be posted throughout the gym. Team placements are fully at the discretion of the All Star Cheer Director and coaching staff. Final placements will be made keeping the overall success of the teams and the safe progression of the children as athletes in mind. Prior placement on a level is not an indication of where athletes will be placed in the future. Please note: there is no difference in ability level when it comes to Tiny, Mini, Youth, Junior or Senior teams within the same level.

Evaluation Check-In Process - Athletes must arrive 10 minutes prior to evaluation time. - Athletes will be given an evaluation number and a hair accessory. - Athletes will have a photo taken. - Athletes will be escorted into the gym for warm up and evaluation.

Evaluation Attire - Black tank top and black shorts (midriffs may not show) - Cheer shoes or tennis shoes - No jewelry - Hair pulled away from the face in a high ponytail, bun or 2 French braids - Makeup is suggested but not required

Evaluation Viewing Area To avoid distractions, viewing areas (both balcony and lobby) will be closed to all cheer families during the entire evaluation process. The viewing areas will reopen on a limited basis to our cheer families during team practices. Violation of this policy may result in immediate dismissal from the evaluation process.

Evaluation Fee $55 Available only to early commitment families $75 Registration Fee (Register online by May 19, 2019) $85 Late Registration Fee (Register online after May 20, 2019 by appt only.) *This fee is non-refundable for any reason

required to show flexibility and body positions. Inability to show and hold body positions with advanced flexibility will affect athlete’s chance of being placed as top girl.

- Athletes interested in a Top Girl position must be prepared to show basing and/or backspotting skills in addition to flying and may not be given the opportunity to fly depending on group logistics. No meetings or questions will be fielded regarding stunt positions.

- Athlete coachability, skill retention, ability to understand basic level appropriate stunting concepts, athlete strength, and skill technique will be evaluated. Inability to show understanding of skills and skill concepts to our standards may result in athlete being moved to a different level.
