From the beginning of his career, Bill filled a critical law firm niche -- multi-disciplinary law. While some lawyers study narrow fields of law, Bill has “specialized” in solving complex legal challenges that require broad knowledge and application of disparate fields. Understanding real estate, personal injury, and tax matters may be essential to resolving a divorce, while small businesses often struggle simultaneously with business structure, copyright, unfair competition, employment concerns -- and the property rights of spouses who are part of the management team and those who are not. Bill’s multi-disciplinary “specialty” means clients can expect cost-effective, flexible problem solving without employing a team of lawyers.

Bill maintains professional memberships in the San Mateo County and Santa Clara County Bar Associations, and he is a member of the Family Law sections of both as well as the Family Law Section of the State Bar of California. Bill is also a trained mediator. He has served as an attorney mediator for the Bar Association of San Francisco in 25 employment and real estate matters. Bill also volunteers in the Santa Clara County Superior Court where he leads settlement conferences and occasionally hears small claims court matters. Bill has lectured several times on post-trial and appellate practice at seminars.

In 1989, he received Martindale-Hubbell’s “A.V.” rating. Mr. Warhurst is active in Redwood City community affairs. The City Council of Redwood City appointed Bill to the Community Task Force on Tree Policies in 2006. The City Council then appointed Bill to the Home Loan Improvement Committee where he served as a voting member for four years. Bill is also a past president and the current secretary of Redwood City International Inc., which supports the Sister City relationships with Zhuhai, China, and Colima, Mexico, as well as cultural events in Redwood City.
