Hanuman Chalisa

After cleaning the mirror of my mind with the dust from my guru’s lotus feet, I recite the pure glory of Sri Rama, which provides the four fruits of life.” [Dharma (righteousness and fulfillment of duties), Artha (wealth),Kama (pleasures and fulfilment of dreams), and Moksha (liberation).] Having understood that I have deficient intellect, I am remembering Hanuman, the son of Pavan. I request him to grant me intellect, strength, and true knowledge and to remove my flaws and sufferings. -------------------------------------------------------------- Victory to Hanuman, the ocean of wisdom and virtue; the king of the monkeys, who is renowned in the three worlds, the messenger of Sri Rama (God), possesses incomparable strength, and born of the Wind (Pavan) and son of Anjani. By bringing the Sanjivani (medical herb) to restore Lakshman’s life, you filled Sri Rama’s heart with happiness, who then embraced you with a hug and praises, stating "You are as dear to me as my own brother Bharat." (Lakshman had been injured and close to death on the battlefield. Hanuman travelled far to find a medical Herb to revive him) Thousands of beings are chanting your glories, Shri Ram had said. When Sanka, Lord Brahma (Creator), Naradh Muni (Great Vishnu devotee), Saraswati (Goddess of Knowledge), Yamraj (God of Death), Kubera (God of Wealth), and the Digpals (Universal Guardians) all argue with one another to offer you suitable homage for your glories, How may a mere poet or scholar describe them? You united Sugreeva (Leader of Monkeys) with Shri Ram who installed him on the Royal throne. The world already knows that Vibhishana (Good hearted brother of the Demon King Ravana) became the king of Lanka by following your advice. You aimed to swallow the Sun, located thousands of miles away, as a child, believing it to be a sweet fruit. It is unsurprising that you jumped over the ocean (From India to Lanka) with Rama’s ring in your mouth. All impossible tasks of the world become light with your grace. You guard the door to Rama’s abode, which no one can enter without your approval. All worldly comforts lie at your feet, and with you as one’s protector, your devotees feel fearless. Only you can control your energy and power; When you roar your thunderous roar, the three worlds tremble. Evil souls and forces cannot approach one who recites the name, Hanuman.
