Hello Athletes, Parents, Staff, and Family Members!

Fall is coming! This means lots of events! Softball is going to state, soccer and bowling will begin within the next couple months, and fundraisers are approaching! Please read carefully for all details!

Have you heard?The Fulton County Jaguars are going to State! The Fulton County Jaguars

Special Olympics team traveled to Findlay, OH this past weekend to compete in the West Section Softball tournament. The Jaguars defeated the Lucas County Sluggers in game one 22-14. The Jaguars held Lucas Co. to only four runs in the 1st inning, while scoring nine. Stellar pitching from Nathan Schaefer propelled the Jaguars to their first win.

The Jaguars took on Ottawa Co. in the championship match. Ottawa took the lead early, scoring seven runs. The Jaguars fought back to obtain a 10-7 lead going into the 2nd. Ottawa bounced back and out of the 3rd the game was tied 11-11. Both teams fought back and forth to try to get the winning run in. The Jaguars received the big break in the 4th. Corey Hite was up to bat with one out. He hit a grounder to shortstop, and ran to first. The defense overthrew the ball to 1st, and Corey advanced to third on an error. Jason Pfund then hit a grounder and scored in the game winning run!

The Jaguars advance to the State Semifinals at the Coontz Recreation Complex in Oregon, OH September 16th. They play at 9:00am. The Jaguars are coached by Celia and Nick Wilson, assisted by Zach and Carolee Hartman.

More Important NewsWhat’s Next?Final details for the Sports Award Banquet are getting finalized, but watch your mailboxes for information to come! It will be mailed out shortly.

Mark Your Calendars!We are having our 2nd annual Special Olympics Fundraiser Nov.

4th at the Delta Eagles. There will be a hot dinner, drinks, silent auction, 50/50 raffles, and live entertainment! Mark your calendars!

We're also looking for silent auction baskets and donations. If you sell clothes, beauty products, home products, etc. and would like to donate a basket/product for our silent auction, please PM me, or email cwilson@fultoncountyoh.com. In addition, if you have any LARGE items that you would like to donate for the live auction, please contact me as well.

As always, we will need volunteers to help sell tickets, serve the meal, clean tables, and of course entertain our guests! I will have a sign-up sheet shortly in which you can select a time slot in which you would like to work.

All proceeds will go directly towards Special Olympics, and our athletes will have the opportunity to experience some of the most inspiring times of their lives.

Go Jaguars!Your Jaguars pep squad team traveled to Holgate High School on

August 19th to compete in the 8th Annual Holgate Cheerleaders Gone M.A.D. Competition.

In their division, they competed against Lucas Co. Special Olympics and Hope Services. They prepared with a cheer, chant, and dance routine to Miley Cyrus “Party in the USA.”

(Emily Stockham, Joel Reinking, Kristina Ellis-Smith, Kelly Baumgartner, and Danelle Bodette hold their 1st place trophy)

The crowd cheered, the athletes loved it, and we unveiled our new friend Jax as well! They ended up placing 1st, and are very excited to enter in more competitions throughout the year! The Jaguars are coached by Emily Stockham. Congrats everyone!

Our athlete of the month for September is Jason Pfund! Jason hit in the winning run at the West Section tournament to advance the Jaguars to state! Congrats Jason!
