The Bible is inspired by God Himself! It is His Word, containing His wisdom, His goodness,
His intentions, His judgements, and His Heart. Come spend time with us in His Word!
This Week’s Sunday Morning Bible Study at 9:30 a.m. **Please note: Our Bible Studies are furloughed until further notice***
Adults: Topic of the Month: Called to God's Work of Justice This unit has five sessions that explore ways that people are called to participate in God’s work of justice. Zephaniah presents both a judgment against the wickedness and injustice of Jerusalem and a vision of restoration. Zechariah calls for a return to God’s ways of justice. In Jeremiah, God’s rigorous standards for justice are defined, and God’s people are given a choice either to repent injustices by executing justice or to face destruction. Hosea uses early history to call the people to love and justice.
Lesson for Sunday, May 10, 2020: Promising Peace
Zechariah 8:1-8, 11-17 Devotional Reading: Zechariah 8:18-23 Sometimes people respond to evil conditions in the world with a sense of hopelessness, regret, and doom. But there is hope! The prophet Zechariah delivers God’s promise of a new world of peace and prosperity for God’s people.

Greetings, Parents of Graduating High School Seniors: During this time of unconventional education brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic, our graduating seniors have had the misfortune of not being able to finish their high school journey in a traditional way. They've missed out on their proms, final sports seasons, and just the opportunity to spend more time with their friends and classmates. Thankfully, we have a wonderful community people who desire to make the end of their senior year special. One of the ways they are accomplishing this is by the "ADOPT A SENIOR" Groups, created on Facebook. The groups were created to allow others to help celebrate your graduate's accomplishments. The adopters provide gifts and tokens to seniors to let them proud we are their achievements. We signed up our son, Casper Powe Jr., and he was quickly adopted. We also took the opportunity to a blessing by adopting 3 seniors ourselves. I'm letting everyone know so you can continue make this senior great. I'm placing the links for New Hanover and Brunswick County. Find the group and ask to join. If you are already in a group, invite someone with a senior to join. PARENTS OF SENIORS: Make a post about your Senior. Please include “NOT ADOPTED” at the beginning of your original post until your Senior is adopted and then edit your post to reflect “ADOPTED BY....” and tag who adopted you! Also, please include a picture or two of your senior and something they like or need for the next phase in life after high school. Remember, this is a simple gesture of kindness; be sure not to send expensive likes that will make the adopter feel obligated to spend more than they are able/willing to.

Kameron Simpson was one of only 50 students selected from around the state to participate in the Step Up to Stem program at the North Carolina School of Science and Math in July. It is a week-long, innovative interdisciplinary academic program, using exciting, real-world subjects to challenge rising 9th graders across North Carolina and use their skills in science, math, and communications. The program is only offered to African-American, Hispanic-American, and Native American 8th graders who live in North Carolina. Please take the time to congratulate Kameron on this outstanding academic accomplishment. He is the son of Brother and Sister Dino and Erica Simpson.
To all parents, guardians, and students.

Reading Plan - Daily Psalm Read one Psalm per day for a spiritual boost!
Plan Length: 150 days Estimated Completion Date: Sunday, May 31, 2020
Tips on Reading the Bible Daily 1. Start reading the Bible today -- there is no better time, and there's no reason to wait. 2. Set aside a specific time each day. Set your schedule and then stick to it. Mornings are great,
but feel free to use any time that works consistently for you. 3. Read the Bible for the sake of learning, not simply to accomplish your next reading. Say a short
prayer to God before you begin, asking the Holy Spirit to give you wisdom and understanding, then be refreshed by the words you read!
