THE BOOK CLUB Meeting May, 11th at 3:00 Social Room Dead Wake: The Last Crossing of the Lusitania by: Erik Larson Dead Wake is a story that many of us think we know but don’t, and Erik Larson tells it thrillingly, switching between hunter and hunted while painting a larger portrait of America at the height of the Progressive Era. Full of glamour and suspense, Dead Wake brings to life a cast of evocative characters, from famed Boston bookseller Charles Lauriat to pioneering female architect Theodate Pope to President Woodrow Wilson, a man lost to grief, dreading the widening war but also captivated by the prospect of new love.
Gripping and important, Dead Wake captures the sheer drama and emotional power of a disaster whose intimate details and true meaning have long been obscured by history.

ASBURY ANGELS NEWS
The Asbury Angels welcomed Dottie Hadsell our newest “angel” during
our monthly meeting in April. Dottie will be visiting our nursing area
residents with her Golden Doodle, Minnie (the Mooch), once Minnie is a
little older and settled in. Dottie has also joined the Knitting Circle wher
she will be working on various projects benefiting our residents and other
community organizations.
CELEBRATING EASTER
The Asbury Angels were busy early April filling Easter boxes with treats and taking a
stuffed Easter toy for the residents they visit on our nursing communities.
The event took place after our monthly meeting on April 7, so the treats could be
distributed by the “visiting angels” in time for Easter Sunday.
Interested in joining the ASBURY ANGELS or need more information?
Contact Carol Todd, extension 5088, in the Activity Center, Room 6269,
or simply pick up a brochure located in our Asbury Post Office.
