PAT’S PART – APRIL 2021 Everyone attending the March “Mini Basket Lunch” meeting appeared to have a good time and enjoyed Sherrie Colgain’s One Stroke sunflower class. The members were very happy to have Toni and Jennifer Hoffer at the meeting after a lengthy ab-sence. A chapter business meeting was held which resulted in Linda Myers volunteering to be the chairperson for the Christmas party and ten other members volunteered to help put it all together. [Thank you ladies!] Jill MacFarlane volunteered to head up the Nominating committee and will need a couple more helpers. Please let Jill or me know if you can step up to help with this task [probably starting to make phone calls in October]. There are no volunteers to head up or help with the Basket lunch, but there are still a lot of “ifs” about that endeavor. More on that at a later date. A discussion was held and voted on to eliminate the Library when the storage space is cleaned out at the church. After the vote was taken to proceed, and after the meet-ing, we found out the Largo Library Friends of the Library will take donated discs and books and either keep them in the Library or sell them to help fund the Library. A vote was taken at the meeting and approved by the Board before the day was out to pay up to $150 for construction of a wooden Book Library to be located in Tarpon Springs. Maria Bouris will accept donated books from HPDA members to keep the Book Library stocked. Members will be notified when Maria has approval from the city and the Book Library is ready for donations. It is good we will have a new Phil-anthropic activity up and running soon. In addition, Micki Minutolo supports a nurs-ing home close to her home and is asking for donations of patriotic type cards to hand out to the residents in July, so please bring your card creations in at the May and June meetings. The cards do not have to be in envelopes but please rubber stamp or write a greeting inside the card. If you have not done so already and you have your 2021 receipt for your paid dues for SDP, send it to Carol Adams who will refund the cost of the membership. A number of members brought in artwork they had completed during the past year while living under locked down conditions. Maria Bouris thanked those members who had shared their art and encouraged everyone to share their solo accomplish-ments at future meetings. We are looking forward to the ZOOM class with Maggie Anderson teaching a col-ored pencil project on April 10th…I am sure it will be a lot of fun. Those of you who are taking the class, please bring in your finished pictures at the May meeting so we can see all the little “piggys”! We will plan to have a short Board meeting in May prior to the start of the monthly Meeting, hopefully at 9:45. Pat Stone, President
Olivia, the proprietor of Roe’s Deli Station agreed (yea!!!} to allow the chapter to meet at the facility for the rest of 2021 (except for April Zoom meeting and December when we have a facility already reserved). A vote was taken to continue to meet at Roe’s Deli Station at the Pinellas Art Center for the rest of the year and was approved by all the members at the meeting. Eric at the church has been notified of this decision with the request to use the facility for our 2022 Basket Lunch if available for rent. (If you are meeting a friend for lunch, remember Olivia makes great sandwiches and other goodies!)
Pat Stone, President
Let’s Be Show Off’s! What have you been painting? We’d love to see!!!
Please bring your creations to the chapter meetings or maybe
even send Jill Macfarlane a picture for the newsletter, [email protected].

HPDA Chapter Meeting Minutes
March 13, 2021
The meeting was called to order at 10:25am by Pat Stone ANNOUNCEMENTS: 1. ) Linda McCurdy and Pat Stone made baskets for each member to commemorate our annual basket lunch-eon. 2.) March is National Craft month. 3.) There is a correction to Pat’s Part of the March newsletter. There are 42 paid members and 20 members usually attend the meetings. 4.) Sign up lists will be rotated for volunteers to sign up for the Christmas Party, nominating committee, chair woman and committee for the basket luncheon for 2022. Linda Myers volunteered to chair the Christmas party. We need a chairwoman for the basket lunch. It is uncertain if 20 active members can even make this an option. Pat Stone informed Eric at the church, that if the lunch is held, we would like to go back next year. 5.) Pat talked to Lori Sindall and she is having health issues. 6.) We need to clean out our storage cabinets at the church and move our supplies to the storage site. The cabinets will be donated to the church. We need volunteers to help with emptying the cupboards and relo-cating items to the storage site. Jacki and Linda have volunteered so far. 7.) No one is using the library. Susie Hill will explore donation options for the items. Cheryl McDonald is busy taking care of her bed ridden mother. 8.) Maria Bouris explained the book boxes that are posted in various locations in Tarpon Springs. Members would bring donated books to Maria and she will deliver them. It was agreed HPDA would support this. Jacki Gehring made a motion: “I move we reimburse Maria’s husband up $150 for the construction of the box”. Micki Minutolo seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. 9.) HPDA is still reimbursing for SDP dues. Send receipt of payment and reimbursement form to Carol Ad-ams. 10.) Welcome back to Toni and Jennifer Hoffer. What you need to know about volunteering at the FSDA, HPDA and LEC Booth.
1. There will only be one shift per day.
2. The Booths will be spread out in the display area unlike past years when all the Demonstra-
tion booths were crammed together near the Bathrooms.
3. There will be hand sanitizer on each table.
4. We will NOT have a Spin the Wheel, no pens or pattern books given out, and no kids painting.
5. We will have flyers for FSDA, HPDA, and LEC with a pattern on the back that can be colored. If
you have pattern we could use PLEASE email it to me. Make sure it is not copied right.
6. Instead of putting art work on the wall of the booth, there will pictures of Decorative art
work. Please send photos with good, straight-on shots of your work to be put up as a collage.
This way everyone can have your art work displayed.
7. Every volunteer will get a ticket for each day you volunteer.
8. Volunteers can park in the volunteer parking lot in back of the Creative Living Center.
9. Snacks will be handed out but Brenda will NOT be furnishing lunch.
10. Plan to have something to work on that Demonstrates Decorative Art. If you want to paint
some-thing to hand out like the book marks, like last year, Great! Painted rocks or cards would
work too.
I look forward to fun State Fair. Please email me with you patterns, pictures and the date/ dates
you would like to volunteer.
Thank you Kathy Edwards [email protected] cell 813-6694
Best contact would be to email Kathy directly.

or Ultra Light MDF board. Any size 1/8” to 1-1/2”. Every
wood item is free from knots and any defects.
Finished - Sanded - Ready to Paint or Stain
Ultra Light MDF board is my recommendation because it has an
ultra smooth surface, no knots or wood grain, does not warp,
sands easily if needed and is less expensive than wood.
