Activities is off to a good start! We had 82 people join us for the Christmas Party and we had 55 members complete the activities survey. 50 members asked for Saturday lunch rides! Other top vote getters included breakfast rides, charity events, State HOG Rally trips and a weekend overnight ride. Full survey results can be found on our web page (www.pigtrailhog.com). Don't worry, if you did not get a chance to complete a survey they will be available at the next few mem- bership meetings. With as many events as we would like to do we will need your help; if you are willing to help plan an event of any kind please see Barb or Dave. Out next event is a Super- bowl Party on Sunday evening February 2nd; you can find the details on our Facebook page and web site. Happy New Year! We’ve had a few days of warmer weather, and many of us took the opportunity to get out and ride. The New Year’s Polar Bear Ride was especially fun. We had 24 bikes in two groups. Thanks to all of you who rode, and especially to the Road Captains for my ride, Ken McKeene and Lance Johnson. I heard from Keith Poor, our Head Road Captain, that Steve Halfiger and Jim Carman led and swept the other ride like pros, and had a fun time with no issues. Great job. Don’t forget the meeting this Saturday at 10 a.m. We hope to have our second (much colder) ride for 2014 following the meeting. See you there! Happy New Year! Did you get your HOG magazine for January? The new Harley Owner’s Group Logo is now in affect. You can see it at the top of this page. I have no idea when the patches will be available for purchase. And, for all our old-timers, wearing the old patch is fine. Our general membership meeting is this Saturday, January 4th. I won’t be there. I’ll be someplace where it is warmer, but thinking about you. Bob Jaskie will run the meeting, which means it should be really fun. Last month was a blast, with the Toy Drive, Christmas Party, LOH gift wrapping, and first meeting’s ice breaker… Let me tell you, this chapter has me excited. I’ve already met many new friends and can’t wait to meet more. Ride safe! Can you have fun wrapping presents? Yes you can if you are wrapping with Ladies of Harley! A big Thank You to al of the volunteers. There was singing and laughing and great teamwork. We enjoyed ourselves amid our own Holiday Frenzy's and we can't imagine how much more fun we will have while having FUN and not working! We had a great January 1st Polar Bear New Year’s Ride on Wednesday, and we’ll have a ride on Saturday, January 4th after the meeting. During and after the recent snow storm that closed all local schools for several days, the various road departments were out dumping sand on our roads. While that greatly helps cars with traction during icy road conditions, it creates a dangerous hazard for motorcycles. Don’t let the warmer weather fool you. Take it easy. Stay in the tire tracks, especially on curves. The shoulders will be particularly dangerous. Do not let this hazard surprise you. We know it is there. Let’s ride accordingly. Be safe! Our chapter will have it’s third meeting Saturday, January 4th, and we already have nearly 230 members. Wow! Don’t forget to bring your Harley-riding friends to the next meeting and introduce them to me. You don’t want your friends to miss out on a good thing. Chris and I have met so many new friends, and we hope you have, too. See you Saturday!
