MARK’S MESSAGE

HAPPY NEW YEAR! Want to have a Happy New Year? Here are a few suggestions that will help

get you started on the right track.

H – Help whenever, however and whoever I can.

A – Admit it when I’m wrong, but when I’m right, make me easier to live with.

P – Promote Christ whenever an opportunity presents itself.

P – Pray without ceasing.

Y – Yield not to the many temptations that are daily in my path.

N – Never think an unkind thought of anyone.

E – Endeavor to work harder for the Lord and the church than ever before.

W – Weed out all of my bad habits to the best of my ability.

Y – Yearn and pray for spiritual growth.

E – Earnestly desire a stronger relationship with Christ.

A – Attend church worship regularly and give my whole hearted support.

R – Resolve to give my all for Christ and His word for He gave His all for me.

I’m excited about the New Year! I believe that God has a lot in store for us here at Far-

ley. We just need to make sure we’re doing our part and He will richly bless our efforts

in His name. May God help us to be more devoted to Him and His Church in 2017. “To

Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end.

Amen (Eph 3:21).

Farley News and Events BE A BIBLE STUDENT IN 2017—Start 2017 out on the right foot by committing yourself to the

studying and reading of the word of God. There are multiple study helps on the table in the foy-er. Please feel free to pick up whatever study helps you will use.

SUPPORTING NEW WORK– The Farley Church of Christ will begin this year to support (GSM) GOSPEL SHARING MINISTRIES. Gospel Sharing Ministries is a ministry designed to help churches learn to approach people with the Gospel by holding campaigns with them. They hold campaigns all over the States and convert many lost souls to Christ. GSM was formed in 2013 and is a non-profit corporation overseen by the eldership at Fairmont Park Church of Christ in Midland, Texas. We were fortunate to see this work first hand when we had our campaign with GSM last October. We are proud to be able to support this great work and to be financially blessed to do so. As a member of Farley YOU are a vital part of this support!

ANNEX CALLENDAR—The 2017 annex calendar is ready for you to reserve. If you would like to reserve the annex for a special occasion please tell Mark and he will make your reservation.

CARE PROGRAM—The 2017 Care Groups lists will be available next Sunday morning. Please make sure that you find what group you are in. If you have been left out of all three groups please let Mark know so that you can be added. Participation in this is as always optional, how-ever; your participation is encouraged and needed. We would like to thank the Maples and the Spanns for their leadership this past year, and we congratulate and greatly appreciate the Nances and John Skipworth for volunteering to head two of the groups this year. Meetings will resume next Sunday night with group 1.

SECRET SISTERS—The reveal party for current secret sisters will be held after the first of the year. More details to come.

NEW MEMBERS—John and Donna Ash have decided to make Farley their church home. John has a serious heart condition that wont allow him to get out very often. During the winter months they will not be able to attend often due to health, but will be here when they can. They worship at home when they can’t come and listen to the sermons on CD. We are happy to have them here and welcome them with open arms. Let’s be sure to give them a big Farley welcome!

NEW MEMBER—Ralph Lindner has decided to make Farley his church home. Ralph works for the Army and has to travel a lot from time to time. He has decided to worship with us anytime that he is home here in Huntsville. We are happy to have him here and welcome him with open arms. Let’s be sure to give him a big Farley welcome!

NEW MEMBER—Virginia Davis is a resident at Redstone up the hill from us. She has decided to make Farley her church home. We are happy to have her at Farley and we welcome her with open arms to our church family.

SICK and PRAYER LIST Murril Martin’s CAT scan showed a spot on his lung. He had a PET scan Tuesday and is awaiting results, Dustin Wood had an MRI on his back Wednesday and is awaiting results, Hope Fields had her tonsils removed Monday.
