Our Device

• Our Rube Goldberg device uses several energy changes to fire off a confetti popper and celebrate the end of EF 151

Elastic Energy

• A rubber band is attached to a blade which gives the cutting device the energy needed to swing.

Potential to Kinetic Energy

• The cutting arm slices the string thus causing the ‘pendulum’ to fall

• MGH= ½M(V^2)

Conservation of Momentum

• The swinging pendulum then strikes the stationary mass at the bottom of its swing. This gives the second mass a forward velocity over the edge of the table.

Gravitational to Chemical

• The falling mass pulls the string causing the popper to fire and brings in the celebration.

Liquid to Human Energy

The celebration causes the soft drinks to be consumed. This is then converted to internal body energy causing happiness in EF 151.
