Dear Neighbor: Many people are talking about the City o Alameda’s proposal to build new sports felds, renovate our historic gol course, and the associated property transer between Harbor Bay Isle Associates and the City o Alameda. Over the many months it will take to consider the City’s proposal or approval, we encourage public input rom Bay Farm Island residents. Inormation or you to consider includes: Home and property values on Bay Farm Island will go up Newly constructed quality homes that are more expensive than existing homes will always increase property values in surrounding neighborhoods. New sports elds, gol courses and recreation or Alameda’s youth Harbor Bay will donate 12 acres o unused land and construction costs or a new all-weather youth sports complex, including felds or soccer, sotball, Little League, ootb all – sports t he community will choose – which will be maintained in perpetuity at no cost to the City o Alameda. In addition, approving the proposal will result in a brand new par-3 gol course or juniors and seniors and upgrading and reconfguring Alameda’s historic 36-hole Chuck Corica Gol Complex.   Trac fow and saety will be improved and congestion will not increase The City o Alameda hired Abrams Associates Trafc Engineering, Inc. to conduct a trafc study which concluded the proposal would increase trafc volume by less than 1 %. T he proposal will also und improvements to existing trafc such as installing a new signal on Gol Course Drive, changing the timing o signal lights to aid trafc fow, and providing saety improvements or pedestrian, bicycle and school route fows.  The proposal makes good nancial sense to the City o Alameda In exchange or excess unused gol course land, the City o Alameda will receive: n 12.2 acres o ully improved land on North Loop Road n $7.2 million in cash n $2.5 million or upgraded inrastructure to beneft all o Bay Farm Island n $3 million in prepaid permit ees to the City n $1 million in prepaid school ees HARBOR BAY ISLE ASSOCIATES | 1141 HARBOR BAY PARKWAY, SUITE 221 | ALAMEDA, CA 94502 CELEBRATING  4 0   Y   ear  IN ALA MEDA
