HISTORICAL BUILDINGS Kenora Town Office Main St. S., originally the Post Office building constructed in 1897, opened to the public in 1900. Kenora Public Library Main St. was built in 1916 with a grant from the Carnegie Foundation. Recently renovated and expanded. Kenricia Hotel Corner of Main St. and Second St., was originally the Tourist Hotel built in 1910 and renamed in 1933. Notre Dame Du Portage Church Over the CPR overpass on 1st St. N. Built in 1890, it was destroyed by fire in 1916, and re-opened a year later. St. Alban’s Cathedral Main St. The mother church of the Diocese of Keewatin. Cornerstone was laid in 1917. SHAW KBI SKBI is the longest running fishing tournament in Northwestern Ontario. The tournament runs for a total of three days starting on the Thursday after the August long weekend and finishing with the ever popular boat parade on the Saturday where the top ten teams parade through the tent in their rigs to weigh-in their fish to a packed crowd of hundreds of people.
