POETIC DEVISES

eagle circling abovelongest covered bridgeyellow tour bus

Yankees crossing on foot          through clapboard darkness          overrun tourist bureau

parents and I                    wait on eastern shore                    cameras in hand

union jack  Canadian                              new Brunswick flags limp                              windless hot air

honor in the grass                                        wing feather from raptor                                        circling overhead

This is imagery because the poet is creating an concrete image

This is a metaphor because its comparing honor and grass which are two unlike thing s

This is a metaphor describing the soldier moving form light into darkness

The poet is using personification to describe how lifeless the new Brunswick flag is

The poet is using an oxymoron to describe the tension before the battle
