Breakfast Program A huge “thank you!” to every student who has volunteered and helped with our breakfast program. We would also like to thank Mr. Phillips and his Culinary Technology class for their contributions. We are currently looking for community members to help out as well. Please contact the school if you’re interested! Emma’s PJs Drive For the third year in a row HCS will be a drop off spot for the Emma’s PJs Pajama Drive. Students and parents are encouraged to donate new, clean PJs for donation to local women’s charities. Donations will be accepted throughout the month of November! Student Morning Drop Off

Due to safety concerns, we are asking that all students be dropped off in the back of the school in the mornings between 7:50 and 8:15. As you circle the building, please use the left lane in the back to drop off and use the right lane to continue on around the building. We are asking that all parents respect this and not drop off in front of the building as it is a safety concern. If you need to enter the building with your student, please park in the parking lot and come in.

Please contact the school if you have questions or concerns. YEARBOOK SALE! Yearbooks are still on sale! Families can purchase an HCS yearbook through Jostens Canada by following the link on our school website. The early bird sale has ended, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still reserve a book full of memories for your favourite Husky!

Huskies Athletics News! Athletes of the Month Each month HCS celebrates four students as Athletes of the Month. This month they are: Middle School Girls – Ellie Orser Middle School Boys – Coy Tompkins High School Girls – Julianna Culberson High School Boys – Skyler Davenport A Hometown Championship! Congratulations to our hockey team, who took home (or kept home) a banner at the Covered Bridge Classic in late November. The tournament, hosted in Hartland, featured every single A school from across New Brunswick. Hartland beat NSER in the final to claim the championship. The month of December will be busy for the Huskies as they host three home games. Those games will be: December 15th vs EGR December 22nd vs PAJS December 29th vs NSER Puck drops at 6:45pm for all home games! John Glass Invitational The senior girls basketball team hosts the annual John Glass Invitational this month, on December 15th and 16th. Teams from around New Brunswick will be in our gym to compete for the banner. Keep an eye on the HCS athletics Twitter page for schedules and updates!

Perfect Attendance! On Thursday, November 29th, we recognized the HCS students who achieved perfect attendance for the first quarter of the school year. Students in every grade were invited to share a perfect attendance breakfast and were thanked for their efforts. It’s never too late to start a good habit, so we urge all our students to reach for that same goal. There might even be some pancakes in it for you someday! Holiday Hoopla! Our annual holiday tradition will take place again this year. Details are top secret, but you can expect a morning of activities, treats and holiday cheer. Stay tuned for more info!

This month’s HCS Newsletter was prepared by the students in our

Journalism 120 class. These students have also been featured recently in

the pages of The Bugle-Observer. Keep an eye out

for more of their work
