APSA-80 Adjuvant is an agricultural wetting agent. APSA-80 has two main uses on the farm: one as an irrigation aid to the soil, the other as a spray adjuvant for use with herbicide and pesticide sprays. By lowering the surface tension of water, APSA-80 can increase the rate at which water soaks into soil, reduce water losses due to evaporation and runoff, and increase crop yields. Look at the results APSA-80 has produced at the Irrigation Research Foundation in Yuma, Colorado.

The use of APSA-80 Adjuvant at 15 oz/acre on a corn crop in a field with severe compaction resulted in anaverage increase of 17.6 bushels per acre in yield and a 30% increase in root depth at 90% rootvolume. These resul ts are published in “The Use of a Non-Ionic Sur factant to Alleviate the Effects of Compacted Soil on Corn (Zea Mays) Yield and Root Growth” authored by Ernest H. Brumbaugh (Access Business Group LLC) and Michael Petersen (NRCS, USDA) for the Sixth International Symposium on Adjuvants for Agrochemicals. Using APSA-80 Adjuvant on the soil at the Irrigation Research Foundation resulted in a 34% increase in soil infiltra-tion rate using a Cornell Infiltrometer. This is a sandy loam with sandy clay loam subsoil, the soil combination most prone to compaction.

APSA-80 used for soil compaction relief has also proven to be effective in increasing crop yields in alfalfa, corn, onions, pinto beans, potatoes, silage corn, sorgham, soybeans, sugar beets, winter wheat and RFV in alfalfa.The results have been published in the Field Trials Report of the Irrigation Research Foundation in Yuma, Colorado. Use of APSA-80 Adjuvant as an irrigation aid for application to the soil is not approved in the states of Minnesota and Arkansas.

When APSA-80 Adjuvant is used with herbicides, the surface tension of the spray droplets is reduced thereby increasing retention on the target weed specie and providing more effective coverage of the leaf surface. This also increases the rate at which the active post-emergent herbicide penetrates the leaf resulting in better weed control. Roundup® Original is one herbicide that must be absorbed through the weed leaf cuticle and then translocated to the rhizomes in order to kill the weed.

When APSA-80 Adjuvant was added to Roundup Original (Monsanto) and sprayed on perennial quack grass (graph), the initial control after seven days, and the season-long control after five months, was substantially higher than when Roundup Original was used alone.

nutriplant sd is a powdered, micronutrient fertilizer supplement designed to be applied to the seed in the planter box. nutriplant sl is the liquid version of the seed treatment and is sprayed on the seeds.
