CuttingCutting InstructionsPlease note: All strips are cut across the width of fabric (WOF) from selvage to selvage edge unless otherwise noted.

WOF= Width of Fabric • LOF = Length of Fabric

Fabric A (5240P-99 Panel – Black):• Fussy cut (1) 36 ½” x 28 ½” WOF strip centered on the panel. Fabric B (1351-Orange Just Color! Orange), cut:• (5) 2 ½” x WOF strips for the binding.• (2) 1 ½” x 28 ½” WOF strips.• (2) 1 ½” x 38 ½” WOF strips.

Fabric C (5250-99 Skulls Geo – Black), cut:• (2) 2” x 29 ½” LOF strips.• (2) 1 ½” x 45 ½” LOF strips.• From the remaining fabric cut: • (2) 2” x 40 ½” WOF strips piece as needed. • (2) 1 ½” x 52 ½” WOF strips piece as needed.

Fabric D (5249-33 Ghostly Vine – Orange), cut:• (5) 3” x WOF strips, sub-cut (30) 3” x 5 ½” strips.• (2) 2” x 40 ½” WOF strips.

Fabric E (5249-99 Ghostly Vine – Black), cut:• (5) 3” x WOF strips, sub-cut (30) 3” x 5 ½” strips.• (5) 3” x WOF strips, sub-cut (64) 3” squares.

Fabric F (5248-93 Words – Off White), cut:• (5) 3” x WOF strips, sub-cut (60) 3” squares.• (1) 5 ⅞” x WOF strip, sub-cut (2) 5 ⅞” squares.

Fabric G (5246-33 Spooky Cats – Orange), cut:• (1) 5 ⅞” x WOF strip, sub-cut (2) 5 ⅞” squares.

Backing (5242-19 Spooky Scenic – Dusty Blue), cut:• (2) 60” x WOF strips. Sew the strips together and trim to 55” x 60” to make the back.

1. Sew (1) 1 ½” x 28 ½” Fabric B strip to each side of the 36 ½” x 28 ½” Fabric A panel. Sew (1) 1 ½” x 38 ½” Fabric B strip to the top and to the bottom of the Fabric A panel. Trim the block to measure 37 ½” x 29 ½” to make the Center Block.

2. Place (1) 3” Fabric F square on the left side of (1) 3” x 5 ½” Fabric E strip, right sides together (Fig. 2). Sew across the diagonal of the square from the upper right corner to the lower left corner (Fig. 2). Flip open the triangle formed and press (Fig. 3). Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle, leaving a ¼” seam allowance.

3. Place another 3” Fabric F square on the right side of the 3” x 5 ½” Fabric E strip, right sides together (Fig. 4). Sew across the diagonal of the square from the upper left corner to the lower right corner (Fig. 4). Flip open the triangle formed and press. Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle, leaving a ¼” seam allowance to make (1) Unit 1 strip (Fig. 5).

4. Repeat Steps 2-3 to make (30) Unit 1 strips total.

5. Repeat Steps 2-3 and refer to Figure 6 for fabric identification, placement and seam direction to make (30) Unit 2 strips.

6. Sew (1) Unit 1 strip to the top of (1) Unit 2 strip to make (1) Unit 3 square (Fig. 7). Repeat to make (30) Unit 3 squares.

7. Place (1) 5 ⅞” Fabric F square on top of (1) 5 ⅞” Fabric G square, right sides together. Draw a line across the diagonal of the top square (Fig. 8). Sew ¼” away from each side of the drawn diagonal line (Fig. 8). Cut the (2) squares apart on the drawn diagonal line (Fig. 9) to make (2) half-square triangles. Trim the half-square triangles to measure 5 ½” square to make (2) Unit 4 squares (Fig. 10). Repeat to make (4) Unit 4 squares total.

Block Assembly Note: The arrows in figures represent the fabric print direction. Pay attention to the direction of the fabric and unit orientations when assembling the various components.

Quilt Top Assembly (Follow the Quilt Layout while assembling the quilt top.)11. Sew (1) 2” x 29 ½” Fabric C strip to each side of the Center Block. Sew (1) 2” x 40 ½” Fabric C strip to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block.

12. Sew (1) 2” x 40 ½” Fabric D strip to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block.

13. Sew (1) Side Border to each side of the Center Block. Sew the Top Border and Bottom Border to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block.

14. Sew (1) 1 ½” x 45 ½” Fabric C strip to each side of the Center Block. Sew (1) 1 ½” x 52 ½” Fabric C strip to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block to make the quilt top.

Layering, Quilting and Finishing15. Press the quilt top and 55” x 60” backing well. Layer backing (wrong side up), batting, pressed quilt top (right side up) and baste. Quilt as desired and trim excess batting and backing when quilting is complete.

Binding16. Cut the ends of the (5) Fabric B binding strips at a 45-degree angle and sew end to end to make (1) continuous piece of binding. Fold in half lengthwise and press wrong sides together.

17. Sew the binding to the front of the quilt, raw edges together. Turn the folded edge to the back, and hand stitch in place.

8. Place (1) 3” Fabric E square on the bottom right corner of (1) Unit 4 square, right sides together (Fig. 11). Sew across the diagonal of the smaller square from the upper right corner to the lower left corner (Fig. 11). Flip open the triangle formed and press. Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle ¼” away from the sewn seam to make (1) Unit 5 square (Fig. 12). Repeat to make (4) Unit 5 squares total.

9. Sew together (7) Unit 3 squares, end to end, to make (1) Side Border (Fig. 13). Repeat to make a second Side Border.

10. Sew together (8) Unit 3 squares, end to end. Sew (1) Unit 5 square to each end of the newly sewn strip to make the Top Border (Fig. 14). Repeat to make the Bottom Border.
