The (B) is the cancel and the equipment command button.For an example: If you want to milk your cow, you wantto make sure the cow milker is equipped and you arestanding next to the cow. Press (B) and you havemilked your cow.

The (A) is to accept, talk to another character, orpicking-up or throwing-down(away) items.For an example: If you want to throw away a failedcooking dish, stand next to or in front of the trash-can and press (A). Your failed cooking dish has nowbeen thrown into the trash can!

The Select is the menu button for your farm property, ( )List of animals, Harvest Sprites, Earnings Report, andTool Level List.For an example: If you want to know if your chickensare sick, you would press select and with the directional ( )button you press the right side one time. It will showyou a list of your chickens. The names, health, age,affection, and if it is a champion in the Chicken Fest, itwill have a crown on top of the chicken icon.

The start is the menu where you can choose your Diary, ( )Rucksack, World Map, Farm Map, Earnings, Memo, andTutorial.For an example: If you want to save your game status, youwould press the start button, then the (A) button, the (A)button once more on Save, then with the directional buttonleft or rightyou would press (A) on either Data 1 or Data 2. It will ask you if you wish to overwrite and you can press(A) on Yes if you want to Overwrite that file, or you wouldpress the bottom directionmal button to No and then press (A).

The ( L ) and (B) buttons together is a quick way to changeyour equipped tool. The (R) button is a way you can run. If you wish to always run and only walk when you press the( R ) button, you can change that in the Diary. The (B) and(A) buttons together will pull-up the Tools and Items menu.You can change them around or choose to equip them if you wantto. For an example: If you want to give a flower to abachelorette, you would press (A)(B) together or press start,the right directional button, (A) on the Rucksack, then choosea flower. Press the (A) button twice on the flower and you willbe holding the flower. Walk-up to to the bachelorette and the(A) button when you are next to her or in front of her to talk toher. She will accept it whether she likes the flower or not, butwill give either a good or bad response if she likes it or not.The ( L ) button and the up directional button together will makeyou whistle for your horse if you have one. The ( L ) button and

the bottom directional button together will make you whistle foryour dog.The ( L ) and Select buttons together will bring-up the Farm Map.You will be able to see your crops you are growing, your house,barn, chicken coop, where your animals are, etc. The ( L ) andStart buttons together will bring-up the Worlds Map. The WorldMap will show you all of Mineral Town. From Mother's Hill toMineral Beach. You'll be able to see all of Mineral Town.

Your Farm consists of these things:

You can buy a Mirrior and a Clock from the TV Shopping Network too.

You can extend your house two times. The first tkime youextend your house you will have:A. A Calendar stillB. A Television stillC. A Diary stillD. A Single-Person Bed stillE. A Bookshelf stillF. A chest for your tools stillG. A Bigger table

You can buy a Shelf to store your items in, a Refridgerator to storefood in, a Kitchen to cook, and Cooking Materials such as an Oven toCook as well from the TV Shopping Network.

When you extend your house again, your house will have the same thingsonly you can buy from the TV Shopping Network a:

A. Double-Persons BedB. A Big Rug to put under your table and chairs.

You will also get a fireplace where you can place lumber in for aroaring fire during the winter and you can build a bathroom too!It is also required for you to have a Double-Persons Bed in orderto be able to get married.

Your Barn where your Sheep and Cows stay can be extended too.Before you extend it, you have 8 stalls for your cows or sheep,including one stall where a pregnant cow or sheep will stay, andone shipment chest. If you extend your barn, you will have 16Stalls for your Cows and Sheep, two shipment chests, and includingtwo stalls where your pregnant Cows or Sheep will stay! When yourBarn is extended too you can get a Cheese Maker and a Yarn Maker.

Your Chicken Coop is the last thing that can be extended. Beforeyou extend your Chicken Coop, you have one Egg Incubator, oneShipment Chest, and you are able to have 4 chickens. When youextend your Chicken Coop, you have two Egg incubators and you areable to have 8 chickens. You also can get a Mayonaise Maker onceyour Chicken Coop is extended.

You can make fences with Rocks and Lumber. Rocks are reccomended thoughbecause they don't need any maintanence. The wood fencing breaks easily.When you have wood fencing, when you are unable to pick-up the wood forthe fence, you need to use your hammer and destroy that peice and put anew one. If you don't and your animals are in the fence, Wild Dogs willcome out and scare your animals just like when your animals are outsideand you don't have any fencing! If you use rocks as your fencing, WildDogs won't come out and scare your animals when they're inside the fencing.Your Dog when it is full-grown will be able to scare the animals, but evenwhen it scares the Wild Dogs, your animals will still be unhappy and won'tgive milk or lay eggs when they are unhappy.

You are able to have Chickens, Cows, Sheep, and a Horse. You alsoautomatically get a puppy.A

A. Your Dog

You start out with one animal you can't get rid of whether you likeit or not, a puppy. Your puppy will gain affection when you pick itup and when you bring it to bed with you. Your puppy though can

easily lose affection when you hit it with a hammer, scythe, or a hoe,and when you leave it outside in bad weather or don't ever pick it up.Basically, if you hurt it or ignore it. Your dog will eventually grow-upinto a full-grown dog (it should be sometime in year one I think), whereit will scare Wild Dogs outside, play catch with you with a ball, and playfrisbee with you during the spring, summer, and fall. Your dog can also beentered into a frisbee turnament with you on the 1st day of summer when itis full-grown. Your dog enjoys going to bed with you, as well as being inthe barn with your cows and sheep. You don't even have to feed it!

B. Your Horse

Having a horse is optional. When you become friends with Barley, he willcome to your house and bring a colt for you to take care of as since he hastoo many horses. You can accept or decline his offer. You are unable toride or enter it in the horse races when it is a colt. But it should grow-upinto a full-grown horse in about a year. You can talk to it when it is a colt,but you can't when it is full grown. When it is a Colt and when it is a full-grown horse, you can brush it to gain affection. Talking and brushing it willhave it gain affection. Most animals like to be outside in good weather too,so when the waether is nice it can gain affection by being outside. When it isfull-grown, you will be able to ride it ONLY around your farm and you will beable to enter it in Horse races. When the weather is bad, you should bring itinside the stable, which is next to the Lumber Bin. You don't have to feed it.But if you don't take good care of your horse, Barley will come ovre and takeyour horse away. I've never gotten my horse taken away from me, but from whatI have heard he will come back to your house the next year and give your horseback to you.

C. Chickens

You can buy chickens from the Poultery Farm, where Lillia, your rival Rick, andyour bachelorette Popuri live. You can also get chickens buy putting oneof your chicken's eggs in an egg incubator in the Chicken Coop and wait for 3

days for the egg to hatch. You only get female chickens. The eggs are alwaysfertilized too. You can gain affection similar to your dog. You can pick-upyour chickens and drop them. Your chickens love to be outside on good weather,but from what I have heard, your chickens can run away. So if they are going tobe outside, you want to make sure they are inside fencing. They also willpick-upworms outside so you won't have to feed them outside. But during bad weatheryouwant to make sure they're inside the Chicken Coop. If they're not inside theChicken Coop during bad weather, they can become sick, unhappy, or even die!When they are sick or unhappy, they won't lay eggs. When they are sick you needto buy Animal Medicine from either Barley at the Yodel Farm or Lillia at thePoultery Farm. Then make sure it is equipped (it will be in the tools section)and press (B) on the chicken. Something should come-up saying "The sickness isgone!" If it says "Nothing happened," then you didn't give it to the chickencorrectly. You can also lose affection when you hurt your chicken. When yourchickens are inside the Chicken Coop, you should feed each chicken once a day.If you don't want your chickens anymore, you can get money off of them bysellingthem to Lillia at the Poultery Farm. Depending on how well of eggs they laywilldepend on the money you get in return. The more affection you give yourchickens,the better the eggs the lay. The better the affection also, the better they'lldo in the Chicken Festival and when they win the Chicken Festival, they also laybetter eggs!

D. Cows

You can buy cows from the Yodel Farm, where Barley and his granddaughter Maylive.You can also get cows when you buy a Pregnant Miracle Potion for cows at YodelFarmfrom barley and give it to your cow to pregnate it. You wait for about 20 daysand

you should have a calf born! You only get female cows. The cows will give youbetter milk if you give them more affection. They will also do better in theCowFestival if you give them more affection. When they win the Cow Festivals, theygive better milk too! You can sell cows based on their milk quality likechickensat the Yodel Farm with Barley. Cows like to be outside during good weather ifthey are in a well-fenced area with grass. Cows will graze and you won't havetofeed them. But during bad weather you need to bring them inside the Barn ortheywill become unhappy, sick, or even die! When they are sick or unhappy, theywon'tgive milk. You will also need to feed them when they are inside the Barn. Youcangive them affection by milking them, brushing them, and talking to them. Butyou canlose affection by hurting them. If they become sick, you need to buy AnimalMedicinejust like the chickens.

E. Sheep

You can buy sheep from Yodel Farm from Barley. You can also get sheep when youbuyPregnant Miracle Potion for sheep from Barley at Yodel Farm. You give it tothem(Which I forget to mention it will go in the Tools section) and like the cowsyoushould wait for about 20 days and then the lamb is born! Likewise also, you canonly have female sheep. You can shear the wool on your sheep a couple times aseason. Wool quality will depend on the affection you give the sheep and if ithaswon in the Sheep Festival. They also enjoy to be outside in good weather in awell-fenced area and with grass. If you don't want your sheep, you can sellthem tobarley at Yodel Farm and depending the quality of the wool your sheep give will

depend on how much money you get from them. You can give them affection bytalkingto them, brushing them, and shearing their wool. They will graze outside so youwon't have to feed them. But if there's bad weather, you want to make surethey'reinside the barn or they will become unhappy, sick, or even die! When they'resick,you need to buy Animal Medicine and give it to them like with the cows andchickens.

There are two different caves you can mine in: The Spring Mine and the WinterMine. The Spring Mine you can go mining in any season any day, and it islocated next to the Harvest Goddess' Spring. The Winter Mine, however, youcan go mining in only during the winter when Kappa Lake freezes. When Kappalake is frozen solid, you can walk across it and get to the Winter Mine.

Here are the best things you should have equipped with you when you go mining:1. Hoe2. Hammer3. Basket4. Bodigizer (Bodigizer XL is best)5. Turbojolt (Turbojolt XL is best)6. And Elli Grass

In order to go down levels, you need to dig to find a golden staircase. Thestaircase can be located anywhere on the level, including under rocks. Youwant to use the hammer to break the rocks and the hoe to dig. Mining can takea long time, but it can also be fun and a great way to make lots of money!

A. SPRING MINE

The items in the Spring Mine are best for upgrading tools and making Cheese,Yarn, and Mayonaise Makers, including making jewlery for the ladies. Itemsused to upgrade tools are called, "Ores." There are Copper Ores, Silver Ores,Golden Ores, and Mystrile Ores. But don't get confused with Junk Ores. ThoseYou can sell for 1, and they won't help you upgrade anything. It's likein its name, they are "junk."The item you use to make jewlery for the ladies is Orichalcum. These help makeNecklaces, Earings, Bracelets, and Broaches.The Cheese, Yarn, and Mayonaise Makers require an Adamantite. Summer 7: Chicken Festival--Enter your chicken and if your chicken wins, youmay get Goldenor P Eggs at 10:00am in Rose Square!!

Summer 20: Cow Festival--Enter your cow and if your cow wins, you may getGolden or P Milk at 10:00am in RoseSquare!!

Summer 24: Fireworks Festival at 6:00pm in Mineral Beach

Winter 24: Starry Night Festival is during the evening around 6:00pm at the topof Mother's Hill mountain everyfive years--Make a wish!!

Winter 25: Stocking Festival is once you've gotten Ellen to make you astocking, you go to bed around 10:00 or11:00pm. Thomas will come to your house that evening and give you asurprise.--To get Ellen to make you a stocking,you need to be good friends with her and give her a lot of yarn.

Winter 30: End of the Year Festival is in Rose Square at 6:00pm

Many people wonder how you link Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town andHarvest Moon: A Wonderful Life. Well,here's how it goes:

1. Turn the Gamecube and the Gameboy Advance on. The Gameboy Player DOES NOTwork for linking the games.2. In Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life, go to the Mountain by Vesta's farm whereNic, Nac, and Flak will stopyou. They will talk to you and just say yes both times. But when they say toturn the Gameboy Advance off andthen on, DO NOT turn the Gambeboy Advance off!!3. In Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town, go to the Harvest Goddess' Springby the Spring Mine and give heran offering. She will ask you if you want to connect to the Gamecube game. Thefirst time say yes, when she asksyou if you want to stop linking, say yes because yes and no are switched aroundthe second time.4. When the linking is complete it will automatically say "linking terminated." You will get a certain ammountof linking stars with how far both games on the Gamecube and Gameboy Advanceare. When all 42 starts are filled up,you will get a Beach Vacation House!! Different events and items will occurwhen a certain ammount of stars arefilled-up. Linking has nothing to do with the Mountain Cottage!! To get theMountain Cottage, you need to bemarried for 50 years on the game and your wife will get that for you. You DONOT play multiplayer when linking.Linking is just exchanging information from the games.
