The collection primarily includes published materials in bound form, digitized from library collections.

E-Journals: What is to be done?

• E-journal archiving is not HathiTrust’s defining mission, so….– Should HathiTrust make efforts to collect born-

digital serials? How?– How important is digitizing retrospective serials

relative to the long tail of e-journals?– Should we re-scan works publishers have already

digitized and licensed? – How can we improve the quality of metadata and
