What is your current biggest challenge
competing on a global scale in a highly
competitive industry?
As an exclusive Art-Deco boutique hotel,
La Residence is considered the premium
property in Vietnam as wel l as in region.
For Hue, as a destination, La Residence, at
the moment, is the only choice for high-end
travelers. Our current biggest chal lenge
is to promote the City, the destination
and give high-end travelers a reason
to v isit Hue. And here it is: Hue - The

What is a "FUN FACT" about your
Boutique hotel?
First, Art Deco: The bones, or the
foundation of this hotel are very, very
strong. At the heart of the hotel is an Art
Deco masterpiece that was built in 1930s
as a guest house for the colonial French
governor of Vietnam. People love this
style. It evokes a certain dreamy nostalgia.
We built two annexes to the mansion, and
the annexes look as if they have been here
as long as the mansion. At the same time
people travel through space on holiday,
from Sydney, let's say, to Hue, they also
love to discover, experience and soak in hope to be able to travel a little bit through
the history, culture, landscapes wonder time. The hotel's principal designer, Brigitte
