MARKET COMMENTARY

The Nifty ended below the 11,100 mark, falling below its 200-day simple moving average (DMA) placed at

11,144. Banks and auto shares witnessed heavy selling.

The Sensex fell 289.13 points or 0.77% to settle at 37,397.24, its lowest closing level since 16 May 2019. The

index rose 263.84 points, or 0.70% at the day's high of 37,950.21. The index fell 327.34 points, or 0.87% at the

day's low of 37,359.03.

The Nifty 50 index fell 103.80 points or 0.93% to settle at 11,085.40, its lowest closing level since 8 March 2019.

The index rose 78.25 points, or 0.70% at the day's high of 11,267.45. The index fell 116.55 points, or 1.04% at

the day's low of 11,072.65.

Broader markets tumbled. The S&P BSE Mid-Cap index fell 1.58%. The S&P BSE Small-Cap index fell 2.13%.

The market breadth was weak. On the BSE, 565 shares rose and 1947 shares fell. A total of 111 shares were

unchanged. Nifty likely to trade in the range of 10820-11400
