Established in 1922Closed down in 1950Re-established in 1989

Liberal education includes a general education curriculum thatprovides broad learning in multiple disciplines and ways of knowing along

with more in-depth study in a major.

This type of education can prepare students for many fields in today's workplace.

Disability-friendly University

VMU is the first of Lithuanian higher education institutions which began to take care of the

integration of persons with disabilities into society through the higher education program me.

Infrastructure and studying

process Material basis of the university is constantly being

built, reconstructed, adjusted and adapted to the

needs of students with physical disability

People with disabilities live in the dormitory rooms

that are adapted to their needs, with the option

provided for their companions to be accommodated

with them

Many study programs are flexible and can be adapted

to the needs of the person with disability byorganizing the process of studies: distance learning,

various forms of examination and etc.

Present equipment and infrastructure are

continuously being improved

On 2011 VMU was awarded by Lithuanian Education Exchanges Support

Foundation as an Education and study institution, which most actively

promoted people with special needs mobility by Erasmus program from 2007 to

2010

...Im very happy that VMU has provided theopportunity for me to study, because it helps me
