History of HawaiiHawaii 1st people arrived there

about I,600 years ago. The people came from the north by following the stars and by watching the waves and the flight of the sea birds. The

early Hawaiians believed in Pele the goddess of volcanoes.

One of the 1st scientist to study Hawaii’s volcanoes was

Thomas Jagger.

•Mauna Loa Volcano- which is located on the Island of Hawaii ,

rising above 13,680 ft.•Giant Tree Ferns- that you can walk under them, because there so big.

Taking Care of our Earth

You many not smoke while on the hiking trail. You have to park in certain spots. Don’t feed the Nene.

You also have to watch your pets while out on a walk so they don’t hurt the animals in their habitat. You

can’t take the rocks that are there. Fishing in only in certain spots also. Motorized vehicles are restricted to

paved roads only.
