Hawker 800XP Ground Handling Checklist Procedures A. Introduction This part of the Ground Handling Checklist gives the approved procedures, from the Aircraft Maintenance Manual, to accomplish the Pre-Flight and Post Flight Checks on this airplane. The procedures are listed in ATA Chapter order within this part. B. Servicing - General WARNING: WHEN AN AIRPLANE HAS EXPERIENCED ABNORMAL OR EMERGENCY LANDING GEAR PROCEDURES OF ANY TYPE, INCLUDING AN UNSAFE LANDING GEAR INDICATION OR EMERGENCY EXTENSION OF THE LANDING GEAR, PLACE THE AIRPLANE ON JACKS BEFORE PERFORMING ANY INSPECTION OR MAINTENANCE. WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT ALL THREE LANDING GEARS ARE DOWN AND LOCKED BEFORE REMOVING THE AIRPLANE FROM JACKS. WARNING: AIRPLANES WITH ZERO FUEL AND EQUIPMENT REMOVED FROM THE FRONT MUST BE SUPPORTED BY A TAIL JACK OR LOADED FORWARD WITH SUITABLE BALLAST TO COMPENSATE FOR THE AFT C.G. CONDITION. CAUTION: DURING ALL SERVICING OPERATIONS: MAKE SURE ALL LANDING GEAR LOCKING PINS ARE INSTALLED. MAKE SURE ALL RELEVANT FIRE PRECAUTIONS ARE OBSERVED. MAKE SURE ALL SERVICING EQUIPMENT IS CLEAR OF MOVABLE SURFACES, PARTICULARLY THE FLAPS. MAKE SURE THAT SERVICING EQUIPMENT WILL NOT HIT THE AIRPLANE WHEN GROUND CLEARANCE IS REDUCED DURING REFUELLING. MAKE SURE THE AIRPLANE IS ELECTRICALLY SAFE. CAUTION: BEFORE PLACING SERVICING MATS OVER WING SKINS MAKE SURE THAT SKINS ARE DRY AND MATS ARE NOT DAMP OR CONTAMINATED IN ANY WAY DO NOT LEAVE SERVICING MATS IN POSITION FOR LONGER THAN IS NECESSARY. FAILURE TO OBSERVE THESE CAUTIONS COULD RESULT IN POSSIBLE SKIN CORROSION, PARTICULARLY ON UNPAINTED AREAS, AFTER ONE OR TWO HOURS CONTACT.

Procedures

A. Introduction

This part of the Ground Handling Checklist gives the approved procedures, from the Aircraft Maintenance Manual, to accomplish the Pre-Flight and Post Flight Checks on this airplane. The procedures are listed in ATA Chapter order within this part.

B. Servicing - General

WARNING: WHEN AN AIRPLANE HAS EXPERIENCED ABNORMAL OR EMERGENCY LANDING GEAR PROCEDURES OF ANY TYPE, INCLUDING AN UNSAFE LANDING GEAR INDICATION OR EMERGENCY EXTENSION OF THE LANDING GEAR, PLACE THE AIRPLANE ON JACKS BEFORE PERFORMING ANY INSPECTION OR MAINTENANCE.

MAKE SURE ALL SERVICING EQUIPMENT IS CLEAR OF MOVABLE

SURFACES, PARTICULARLY THE FLAPS. MAKE SURE THAT SERVICING EQUIPMENT WILL NOT HIT THE

AIRPLANE WHEN GROUND CLEARANCE IS REDUCED DURING REFUELLING.

MAKE SURE THE AIRPLANE IS ELECTRICALLY SAFE.

CAUTION: BEFORE PLACING SERVICING MATS OVER WING SKINS MAKE SURE THAT SKINS ARE DRY AND MATS ARE NOT DAMP OR CONTAMINATED IN ANY WAY

DO NOT LEAVE SERVICING MATS IN POSITION FOR LONGER THAN IS NECESSARY.

FAILURE TO OBSERVE THESE CAUTIONS COULD RESULT IN POSSIBLE SKIN CORROSION, PARTICULARLY ON UNPAINTED AREAS, AFTER ONE OR TWO HOURS CONTACT.

Servicing points are shown on Figure 1. System pipelines (Figure 2) are identified in accordance with international convention. The identification system comprises of a symbol with title denoting the function of the pipe system, a worded marker distinguishing two separate systems having a similar function and a number identifying a particular pipe throughout its length. A skull and crossbones marker is put on pipes which, if precautions to be taken before disconnecting such a pipe are not complied with, could cause injury or damage.

C. ParkingParking the Airplane

(1) Position airplane nose into wind and centralize the nose gear wheels.(2) Install landing gear lock pins (Figure 3). If required, the nose gear doors can be opened

manually.(3) Install thrust reverser locking pins (Figure 4).(4) Install internal gust locks (Figure 5 and Figure 6).(5) Make sure that a pressure of 2000 psi minimum is indicated on the emergency brake

accumulator gauge in the rear equipment bay. If necessary top up the system by operating the hydraulic hand pump, situated adjacent to the accumulator.

(6) Apply handbrake fully to the PARK position.(7) Position wheel chocks front and rear of the nose and main gear wheels.

CAUTION: ALLOW PITOT HEADS TO COOL BEFORE INSTALLING PITOT COVERS.

(8) Install protective covers and guards as necessary (Figure 7).(9) If ambient temperature is likely to drop below freezing point, drain water/waste system.

Covers and Blanks (Figure 7)Covers and blanks should be used to protect the following:

Stall warning vents, Static vents, Pitot heads, Dorsal air intake, Cold air unit exhaust, Engine intake and exhaust, APU intake, exhaust and generator cooling.

NOTE: Dorsal intake blank is positioned using the folding handle stowed with the blank. Using the servicing mat and observing the KEEP OFF areas, stand on the left wing to install the blank.

Additional covers and blanks may be used to protect the following:

Main wheels Nose wheels, Ice detector head, Windshields.

NOTE: If used, make sure the inside of the windshield cover is clean and free from all contaminants before installing, do not drag the cover over the screen.

Installation of Engine Covers (Figure 7)(1) Position intake/exhaust covers over engine pod intake and exhaust with interconnecting

strap to outboard side of pod.
