DEFINITIONS

Substances: chemical elements and relevant preparations, either in

their natural state or obtained through specific processes, which

contain the necessary additives to preserve the product stability and

impurities due to the process adopted, excluding solvents which

may be separated without affecting the substance stability and without

altering its composition;

Preparates: mixtures or solutions made up of two or more substances;

DEFINITIONS

Dangerous chemical agents:

•Substances and preparates classified and labeled as dangerous by the

law;

•Chemical agents classified as not dangerous, but that should determine

an hazard due to chemical, phisycal and toxicological properties and the

way of use or storage on work site, included chemical agents with a

threshold limit value (TLV).

HAZARDS

Health and safety hazards

Environmental hazards

Within the European Union, all substances and preparations falling into one or more of the following categories are to be considered hazardous:

Substances should be inherently dangerous or can be dangerous due to the way of use (confined spaces, environmental temperature, etc).

Environmental hazards

Substances and preparates which spread in the environment determine

immediate or delayed hazards over one or more environmental components:

•Air•Water•Soil•Biosphere

LABELLING

Hazardous products or substances shall be identified by means of suitable labels which enable to immediately identify the main known chemical-physical and toxicological hazards. Said labels shall have a black pictogram (hazardous symbols) against an orange background. The label central section shall indicate:

The label central section shall indicate: •risk phrases (R phrases) which specify hazards nature•safety phrases (S phrases) which provide brief instructions on safe operations methods

In any case, containers, tanks, pipes containing harmful or dangerous liquids or gases shall be clearly identified as to their content and marked with the relevant hazardous symbols.

MATERIAL SAFETY DATA SHEET

• Have to came with every products.• Shall follows standard imposed by the laws (D.M. 7/9/02 or updated to CLP rules).• The manifacturer has to deliver the material safety data sheet together with the

product to the user.

MSDS shall include what follows:

1.CHEMICAL PRODUCT AND COMPANY IDENTIFICATION •The name used to identify either the hazardous preparation or substance shall be the one indicated on the label.•The manufacturer, importer or distributor who puts on the market the hazardous preparation or substance shall be identified. •An emergency phone number shall always be indicated.

2. HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION•The main hazards both to the health of human beings and to the environment, due to the substance or preparation shall be clearly identified.

3. INGREDIENTS COMPOSITION / INFORMATION •Information on the substance or preparation shall enable the receiver to clearly identify the related •risks.

4. MEDICAL FIRST AID MEASURES This section describes medical and first aid treatments for accidental exposure, also specifying if a physician is to be consulted. Symptoms and effects, including delayed ones, due to exposure to the hazardous substance or preparation shall be indicated as well. This section is subdivided into paragraphs, depending on the route of exposure to the substance (inhalation, contact, ingestion, etc.)

5. FIREFIGHTING MEASURESThis section provides basic fire fighting guidance for trained personnel. It describes what follows: • proper extinguishing materials; • extinguishing materials which shall be used for safety reasons; • possible physical risks in the case of exposure to the substance, combustion products, gases produces, etc.; • protective equipment for trained fire fighters.

6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURESThis section provides spill, leak and response procedures as to what follows: • Personal precautions: ventilation, respiratory protection, prevention of contact with skin, eyes, etc. • Environmental precautions: keep products/materials far from drains, surface waters, soil, etc.• Cleaning methods: absorbent materials to be used, gas reduction methods, etc.

7. HANDLING AND STORAGE This section provides safe handling and storage information and precautions such as premises ventilation, aerosol and dusts prevention, etc. Storage conditions (temperature, humidity, ventilation, lighting, etc.) as well incompatible materials, quantity limits, proper electrical plant, etc. are also indicated.

8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS / PERSONAL PROTECTIONThis section provides specific control parameters such as TLV, biological standards, PPE, etc.

9. PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL PROPERTIESThis section lists the hazardous substance or preparation properties such as physical state, odour, pH value, boiling point, melting point, flammability, etc. 10. STABILITY AND REACTIVITY The information presented in this section should list materials and circumstances that could be hazardous when combined with the material covered by the MSDS (e.g. light, collisions, etc.) 11. TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATIONThis section indicates the toxicological effects which may arise in the case the user comes into contact with the substance or preparation. 12. ECOLOGICAL INFORMATION This section indicates the effects a chemical may have if it is released to the environment (mobility, degradability, bioaccumulation, ecotoxicity. 13. DISPOSAL CONSIDERATIONSThis section provides proper disposal methods, including those for containers contaminated by the substance / preparation.

14. TRANSPORT INFORMATION This section provides information and precautions to be adopted for handling and transport of the substance / preparation, both inside and outside the company.
