Rediscover HB – now at the A+A in Düsseldorf!

Thalhausen, 17 October 2017 – Change and growth are fundamental

components of HB’s DNA. They have also shaped the company’s

appearance at this year’s A+A. Just in time for the fair, HB has

strategically extended its range, systematically built up individual

sectors, and developed an innovative product and service offer that

further reinforces its position as market leader. Three names

represent these developments above all: TEMPEX®, Flammgard and

Ready to Wear.

In 2015, HB acquired the cold, heat and hi-vis&weather protection

product segments from TEMPEX® – they are now fully integrated in

the HB range. As a result, the company’s core competence has been

expanded and strongly strengthened.

Under the name Flammgard , HB now also offers day shift wear for

firemen. Not only do Flammgard products stand out for their high

functionality, but they can also be customised to the different

requirements of the German federal states.

Finally, Ready to Wear is an innovative line made specially for

dealers, launderers and textile leasing companies

and offers small and medium-sized businesses, in

particular, the possibility of putting together their

own individual protective clothing sets, starting

from a minimum order of 15 units. There are 216


colour combinations and 12 equipment variants available. Slogan: 1

system, more than 1,000 possibilities.

Change and growth will also define the company’s entire brand

image this year. Not only has HB changed its logo this year – it now

shows the green sea turtle as a symbol for flexible, 360° all-round

protection – but it has also integrated the name TEMPEX into it, as

well as modifying the company name: HB Schutzbekleidung has

become HB Protective Wear . So, if you visit the HB stand this year,

or take a look at the new catalogue, you’ll literally see the company in

a new guise.

Klaus Berthold, company owner and son of founder Herbert Berthold,

explains the reasoning behind these changes: “Our new look

underlines our objective to meet the needs of our increasingly

international customers with an even more comprehensive and

customised range of protective equipment. However, we won’t be

losing sight of our established corporate values and quality standards

to which we owe our continued strength throughout the past 65 years

and which have formed the basis of our sustained growth.”


As a groundbreaking pioneer of the industry, HB plans to keep

comfort. Furthermore, the company will remain true to its origins as a

medium-sized enterprise and continue to support its customers
