Have you ever set out to read the Bible

only to find it somewhat confusing or even intimidating to read? HCC is pleased

to announce an upcoming series

designed to help everyone have a more

complete understanding of God’s Word.

This fall people of all ages are invited to

join us for a journey through The Story.

The Story is a book of selections from the Bible arranged chronologically

that reads like a novel. During this 31 week experience every member of the family reads their own version of The Story. The Bible reading will be complimented by weekly group teaching times allowing everyone to

ask questions, build friendships and gain new insights.

The journey through The Story begins September 9 at 6pm during the

Sunday evening programming.

Interested? Please check out the information on page 2.

The Story (continued from page 1)

The Story for Adults

Condensed into 31 accessible chapters, The Story sweeps you into the unfolding progression of Bible characters and events

from Genesis to Revelation.

The Story, Teen Edition God has gone to great lengths to rescue lost and hurting

people. That is what The Story for Teens is all about—the story of the Bible, God’s great love affair with humanity.

The Story For Kids (Upper Elementary) The Story for Kids has it all, but it's not just a fantasy. It's the

Story—the big picture of God's enormous love for his people written like a novel. The Story for Kids is told using the New International Reader's Version, the easiest to read of all Bible

translations.

The Story For Children (Early Elementary)

The Story for Children is a unique collection of forty-eight Bible

stories written by popular speaker and writer Max Lucado with

Randy Frazee and Karen Hill and tells the big picture of God’s

enormous love for his children. The vibrant illustrations that

accompany the stories are by accomplished artist Fausto Bianchi and

help bring the Bible to life for readers of any age.

The Story For Little Ones (Babies-Preschool) Now children can experience God’s great love story! The Story for Little Ones is filled with vibrant illustrations and simple text

that bring 31 pivotal Bible stories, including Creation, David and Goliath, and the birth of Jesus to life for children.

Display copies of The Story for all ages are available for your review at the

display in the lobby and at the T.R.E.E. C.L.U.B. table. Detailed purchase information coming soon.

Mission of the Month

The staff at Mashoko Hospital continues to practice medical evangelism in

Zimbabwe. Our friend Dr. Zindoga Bungu recently added two more doctors to

the staff. This has significantly eased Dr. Bungu’s 24/7 workload and on-call

status. The Dental Department has restarted their outreach program and a

Laboratory Technician has been hired. The lab tech utilizes equipment that in

part helps in the management of people living with HIV and AIDS.

In the first half of 2012, there were 13,656 patients seen at Mashoko. 687

babies were delivered. There were 31 baptisms and 11 restorations of faith.

When chaplains followed up with patients who had returned home, several of

them repented and were baptized. They also invited their neighbors and

families to hear the good news, and many of them became believers as well. For

more information, see the bulletin board near the Welcome Center or visit the

As He Is website.

INVEST HOPE—GINNY IN HAITI

Licking Valley Church of Christ • 1578 Dayton Rd • Newark, OH 43055

http://ginnyinhaiti.blogspot.com • [email protected]

As you know, Ginny Andrews started her own mission while in Haiti, Invest

Hope. Invest Hope is a non-profit organization focused on providing economic

development, increased household incomes, employment generation, and

improved standards of living in Haiti through micro-loans, job training, business

principle training, and basic Biblical teaching.

Invest Hope provides loans to clients interested in starting or improving a

business. An initial loan is given with a clear repayment plan, with the option of

borrowing for improvement upon repayment. Clients are selected based on

their character, investments, risk tolerance, and willingness to repay. With each

loan, Invest Hope provides clients with a basic business knowledge of their

desired profession and the drive to operate this business, leaving the client with

a sense of responsibility.

On another note, Ginny and David got married! They were married on July 12,

2012. You may see wedding pictures on Ginny's website/blog and on Facebook.

There you may also read their vows which were read in English and Creole for

the benefit of everyone there. Congratulations to Ginny, David and their

daughter, Odessa!
