HCE Exchanger

Welcome to the fi rst edition of HCE ExchangerIt has been a milestone year of growth for Hamilton Community Energy. We’ve added new staff to expand our expertise and capability, have a number of exciting projects on the go and I celebrate my fi rst anniversary with HCE.

With 20 years tenure in the thermal industry, there is never a more rewarding opportunity than taking responsibility for a team that is passionate and as committed to service excellence as I am. HCE’s “Zero Cold Customers” committment is our service promise which is also integrated into our systems and technology.

We are extremely proud of what we have achieved in 2009 and continue to produce and supply our customer’s energy requirements, cost effectively, effi ciently and in a way that is eco-sustainable.

We wish (and supply) a warm and prosperous 2010 to all our valued customers.

Always willing to help, Terry draws on his years of experience in boiler maintenance and process operations to give advice and guidance where needed. HCE has fl exed its service range by providing management and operation services on behalf of Hamilton Renewable Power Inc. for the generation project at the Woodward sewage treatment facility since April 2009. This demonstrates the depth of expertise and capability of HCE.

Wearing the EcoLogo Says a LotDriving past the HCE downtown facility, you can’t help but notice how comfortably it blends into the surrounding neighbourhood. With an attractive facade, award winning architectural design, cultivated garden, and green EcoLogo on the front door, you would never suspect that within the very heart of this unobtrusive building beats a powerful natural gas-fi red reciprocating engine and three separate gas-fi red 4 MW boilers capable of providing clean, thermal power to every customer in its core area. Even the exhaust heat is captured and used.

Like the facade, the HCE district thermal energy program blends in, having a minimum ecological impact that modern technology can provide. No wonder it proudly bears the EcoLogo, awarded in 2002 as certifi ed to CCD-001, Energy effi cient Heating/Cooling systems for buildings. The Terrachoice EcoLogo® is a worldwide program that recognizes initiatives and products that meet stringent standards of environmental leadership and are rigorously and scientifi cally tested through the entire product lifecycle.

As a customer of HCE, you have the option of prominently displaying the EcoLogo to demonstrate, not only your use of a Terrachoice EcoLogo certifi ed supplier for your thermal needs, but that your carbon footprint is that much smaller. In the current climate where there is a growing concern for eco-friendly initiatives, why wouldn’t you benefi t from what HCE has achieved? Call us and ask for your EcoLogo decal.
