a message from InspIratIon hIlls

Hello from Inspiration Hills,

In our last newsletter, we had lots to share of the amazing work God did at Inspiration Hills through debt elimination and much more! As staff, we sometimes sit back and pinch ourselves to remind us of the miracle it truly is to be where we are at today. So, thank you to the many people that stepped up. We are so grateful for your obedience to share of your gifts, talents, and time in prayer during camp this summer and into this fall season!

This fall, we have been hosting school, church, and business groups in our facilities and on the ropes course. It has been fun to see groups come together to bond and prepare for the season God is calling them into. Another item we have done this fall is a summer camp debrief. At our debrief meeting, the year-around staff looked at the reactions we could have had as we moved forward from a summer we just experienced. We can either be caught up into a thinking we did all the amazing things this summer on our own or we can cling to the cross of Jesus Christ. One mentality takes our eyes off of God, or set our eyes on him, who sovereignly enacted the summer events. We looked at Romans 1 where Paul talks to the Jews to not presume (take for granted) God’s kindness, but to be led into repentance of the saving work God has done in our lives through Christ. Similarly, as camp moves forward into the future God has for it, we shall not presume his kindness, but hold tightly onto him. This ministry cannot be termed a “ministry” unless our eyes are focused on Him, and through repentance, do we truly see our dependence and need for Him in that process. I hope you too can join us in being reminded of our need for him this season.

Moving forward in that reminder, we are asking for assistance because we cannot do this alone. We need the body and community of believers.

So, there are two areas this fall we are asking for specifically: 1. Enhance and renew the place God has here. There are many remodel projects to help assist these grounds to be a continual retreat and camp for guests and campers. We need the help of donors and work groups to step alongside us to complete these areas. Would you and your church, bible study group, or work group be interested in funding and doing a work project?

2. Now that camp is out of debt, the regular expenses are coming up and to meet our end of the year budget, we need your help. If you see that you are in a place to be a monthly or yearly supporter of camp, come join us! We would love your active role financially to uphold the mission statement here at camp. Visit our website at inspirationhills.org to become a supporter today! With Thankfulness,

Kristi Palsma, Executive Director
