80% of SYD flts on time SYDNEY Airport has been ranked10th in the top 30 world airportsfor Departure Performance ofscheduled pax flights in 2012. Based on a sample of 120,486flights, SYD scored an on timedeparture (within 15 minutes ofschedule) of 80.16%, more than14 percentage points behind thebest performer, Tokyo Haneda. Five US airports (including LosAngeles), Amsterdam, Munich &Frankfurt were also in the top 10. The Flight Stats report revealed5,777 (4.8%) flights out of Sydneydeparted more than 45 mins late,while 4,675 were 30-44 mins lateand 13,165 were up to 15-29mins behind schedule. Over 1,450 flights were axedover the 12 months, and threeflights were diverted from SYD. No other Aussie airports madethe Top 30 world airports list.
VIRGIN Australia will increaseits domestic first additional bagcharge by 100% to $30 when itswitches over to the Sabre GDSplatform from next week. The same fee will more thandouble on Tasman flights, to $55. The fees for a second additionalbag charge will however drop by$15 to $30 on domestic flights &$25 on Tasman flights, to $55. First and second additional bagfees for International short-haulflights (to South East Asia andfrom Perth to New Zealand) willbe standardised to $65 each. HA new neo jet order HAWAIIAN Airlines has signed aMemorandum of Understandingwith Airbus for the purchase of 16new A321neo aircraft, set fordelivery between 2017 and 2020. Fair Trading blacklists Eve Cruises THE NSW Government’s FairTrading authority is warningconsumers against booking withcruise firm Eve Harbour Cruises,on Fri issuing a “public warning”against the company. The warning comes in the wakeof a New Years Eve voyage aboardMV Eve on Sydney Harbour thatfailed to eventuate, stranding upto 150 revellers who had forkedout up to $450 to sail on thevessel to ring in the new year. Fair Trading said a substantialnumber of consumers havesuffered detriment as a result ofthe cruise not proceeding andhave been unable to contact thecompany to obtain a refund. Boston Boeing fire A BATTERY explosion in auxiliaryelectrical systems on a Boeing787 Dreamliner resulted in anonboard fire while the plane wasparked at Boston’s Logan Airport. A mechanic inspecting the jetpost-flight discovered smoke inthe cockpit during his rounds. No passengers were aboard theaircraft at the time, and the localfire crew on duty contained thematter, with the FAA announcingan investigation into the cause.

About the role:In this role you will be responsible for expanding the Travel & Hospitality Recruitment Business (80:20 split of existing business and new business focus) You will provide consultative advice to existing clients. Reporting to the CEO you will work closely with the TMS Team in sourcing candidates. You may not have recruitment experience but a strong travel background and full training will be provided.
You will be responsible for:Achieving monthly sales targets, managing a portfolio of top accounts in Australia. New business development within the travel and hospitality sector. Managing relationships with clients at all levels.
To be successful in this role:Demonstrate sales experience in successfully managing existing accounts in a professional and objective manner.Demonstrated sales experience in new business development - researching, identifying and converting new opportunities.
