Course Outcome Summary (HEACA) (Health Careers) Course Information: Description: Health Careers Are you interested in assuming a health-related career someday? How would you feel about a career that is high paying, satisfying, in large demand, and offers the ability to locate anywhere? In Health Careers class, we will prepare you for the many areas of need in the health and medical field. You will also be one step ahead of others with CPR/First Aid training and certification. You will have the opportunity to meet health professionals in our classroom and learn what it takes to successfully complete a program to become a health or medical professional. Computer skills, creative problem solving, and current trends in medicine will be the focus of our Health Careers course. Instruction Level: (10-12th Grade) Total Credits: (Credit 1) Course Standards: Standard 1 Students will comprehend concepts related to health promotion and disease prevention to enhance health. Description: Health Careers

Are you interested in assuming a health-related career someday? How would you feel about a career that is high paying, satisfying, in large demand, and offers the ability to locate anywhere? Students will learn basics first aid and CPR skills such as what should be in a first aid kit, how to put on a compression bandage, the RICE Method, how to take off rubber gloves, Heimlich Maneuver, how to respond in medical/injury emergencies (spotting a stroke F.A.S.T.), and CPR.
