We will run the remainder of the events this week as a whole school. Huge thanks to Mr Lowrey for the many hours of organisation he put in to the carnival, to the many volunteers, particularly Mr Lyall, who helped with events, to the many parents who came to watch, and to the wonderful canteen workers who managed to hustle out our lunch earlier than expected. We hope for better weather next year! Touch Football Our two touch football teams played last week, the girls against Vacy and the boys against Dungog. Unfortunately we did not come away with a win from either game but it was an impressive effort with a very inexperienced girls team and a young boys team who played against much older students. Thank you to Mr Lowrey for his work in selecting and training the team. Canteen Attached to today’s newsletter is a note regarding the school canteen. Organising a canteen is a very time consuming and difficult job and thanks must go to the co-ordinators who put in many hours of time and energy to running it efficiently and meeting the needs of our students. Please read the note carefully and stay tuned for an update on how many days each week that the canteen will be open in the future. Canteen

Attached to today’s newsletter is a note regarding the school canteen.

Organising a canteen is a very time consuming and difficult job and

thanks must go to the co-ordinators who put in many hours of time and

energy to running it efficiently and meeting the needs of our students.

We are asking all parents to be diligent in checking their child’s hair for Head Lice and treat accordingly.

Term 2

End of Term PBL Reward Day

Our positive behaviour for learning reward day will take place for all eligible students on Friday, 1st

July. Students who are participating will be invited to join a ‘PJs, Popcorn and Movie Day’. A note

informing classes of their eligibility and giving more details will be sent home if each class reaches

their pelican chart goal. Individual ineligible students will spend time with Ms Hazell to plan how they

can meet our expectations for positive behaviour at school in the future.

Olympic Day

The first day back for students is Tuesday, 19th July. This is the Olympic Day at Bennett Park in

Dungog. Parents and family members are very welcome to attend. Please return all permission notes by

Wednesday, 29th June. We have sent home a canteen menu for recess and lunch today. These orders

MUST be returned by Wednesday, 29th June or they will not be processed in time for the event. I

will put a reminder on Facebook as it may be difficult to remember on the first day of term. It would

be much appreciated if you could pass the reminders on to other families you know who may not have

Facebook access.

Holiday Chook Care

If you are able to help care for our chickens in the holidays it would be very much appreciated. If you

can look after them for any period of time, please leave your name at the office.

End of Term

This is the last week of term 2. It has been a very full and productive term. Our students have been

provided with many opportunities to pursue their passions and interests and I would like to thank the

teachers for the many hours of extra work that they have put in to making this possible. As I write

this I am watching a group of 4/5/6 students work together as a team to negotiate the construction

of a multi-room structure in the classroom. As I listen to them work out ways to solve the problems

together with humour, patience, and creativity, I am reminded yet again of what a privilege it is to

spend my days with these students. I am lucky enough to see many examples of positive behaviour

every single day and to be continually impressed by the qualities of PPS kids. It’s easy to forget what

a great place we have here. On behalf of the staff we hope you have a safe and relaxing holiday and

we look forward to seeing these wonderful small humans when we return for the second half of the

year.

Have a fantastic Term 2 break.
