The School of Engineering is Transnet Engineering’s (TE) in-house accredited education, training, development provider.
Formation or Existence: Over 70 years of existence.
Location of Main Training Centres: Five in RSA Provinces i.e. KZN, GP, FS, EC and WC
Number of Training Centres: 17 Training Centres across RSA
Learners Capacity Nation wide:1. 3000 Apprentices2. 50 Engineers in Training (EIT)3. 100 Technicians in Training (TIT)4. 100 Young Professionals in Training (YPT)
SOE objectives are as follows:
Primary: Provision of competent workforce i.e. Engineers, Technicians, Artisans, Managers to Transnet Engineering or Advanced Manufacturing in line with the Market Demand Strategy , Transnet 4.0 and TE 20 2 1 Strategy, and;
Secondary: Provide education, training, development and learning solutions to other Transnet Operational Divisions, Transnet Engineering Clients, Private Sector and the public/communities, within the relevant legislations and regulations, policies and guidelines e.g. SDA, SDL, LRA, BCEA, etc.
